While doing a search for some free classical music, I came across this site http://freealbums.blogsome.com/album-directory-a-z/

They load in QuickTime, but if you save it to your Itunes folder, they load and play there. They have some nice Chopin and Bach if you're interested in that, but there are many others to choose from.

The classical links I followed led to Magnatune.com. Magnatune is a great service which lets you stream for free (but with announcements) or purchase albums, or buy a membership. I'm not sure that what the original site is doing here is legit -- it's better to go to Magnatune.com directly. The artists get a share of all revenue.

You can listen for free -- but consider supporting them (Magnatune and their artists, not the site linked in this thread). I did and I think the site is a great concept.

[Edit] it looks like not all links go to Magnatune, but the classical ones I looked at first did. In any case, check out Magnatune.com. They have a variety of genres of music available from original (legitimate) recordings. If you subscribe or pay per album, you can also get full-quality (WAV or FLAC format), album artwork, etc.
