I just posted on a thread about Walmart (good or bad?). I spent about 15 minutes writing a few paragraphs about how Walmart's competition has been good for consumers: how it stopped manufacturers from price-fixing. And then another 20 minutes looking for that thread, to no avail... Another poster just prior to me probably spent at least 30 minutes writing his opinion on that thread.
I see a major problem developing on this site, WAY TOO MANY MODERATORS! I love this site, but I would hate to see a few bad apples (unrestrained mods) choke this site to death.
Do like Fatwallet does: lock a post, but don't delete people's fair opinions. Otherwise people such as myself will find other forums. Also eliminate some mods there are way too many now...
Thank you.

the thread was deleted at the request of the op.
the hot deals section is for deals only. if the thread had stayed, practically all but the op would have been deleted for being off topic. any politics you want to discuss about walmart and such are more than welcome in podium or lounge.

it was causing too much problems and debate amongst members. So much so that the deal wasn't even worth it anymore. That thread became a who's right - who's wrong, who should shop there and who should stop debate. Members could go on and on all day and night about Walmart and eventually it'll become a bigger problem.

Please don't delete entire threads! Simply move them to the podium!!! Or create a new "locked topics" forum.
I love this site, I've been visiting for the last 3 years with a different alias, but please don't allow this site to become fascist! Thanks!

As arjunsr stated, the OP asked for it to be removed. The moderator was following the OPs request.

please provide an argument that is more substantial than branding someone fascist. Thanks!

As said above, if the OP requests that the thread be deleted, no MODs were out of line. So, go discuss the delete request with the OP. The MODs were merely fulfilling a member's request.
