When I made one of these a few years back, I never received the butter warmer. Lo and behold, 2 YEARS later, I got it in the mail. So I guess my advice is, forget that you ever sent away for these things and sometime in the future, you'll get a nice surprise.

Go to motherhood store and on first purchase (while supplies last of course) they give you a gift bag.
USA baby stores gives you something and Publix if you have one near you. Babies r us does free gift as well.

You need to get registering!!! Don't register for anything that you don't want or you will be study returning gifts! In my opinion Bed Bath and Beyond was the best place to register.

Well, Even tho your wedding is 2012 I would make a fake one now using a closer date
( as some have date restrictions in the fine print). Just don't tell anyone yet if you don't want the items you registered for. What I did was register for a few items at a time than when I recieve the gift I take those off and do a few more. This also cuts down on having to print out a ton of registeration copies. But, I have a lot more time than some people to do it that way.

As for what you should register for they tell you what to the required amount is for each gift your interested in getting. I just went through and picked a few items to make the required amount for each. A few plate sets....serving plates, pots/pans whatever fits the requirement. HTH

I thought the same thing a while back, but noticed that many people received registry freebies from the same company that were offered through different stores. For example the Henckels freebies. However, I don't think it would be a good idea to request the same registry freebie offer from two different stores. That might be over double dipping!

Has anyone gotten their Gien gift? The form says to bring the letter to a Bloomingdale's for authentication. The closest store is over an hour away, so I wanted to know if it really needs authentication before I drive down there/ mail it out?

She mailed it on August 31st, and it took until Sat, Sept 19th for her to get it back in the mail.

She had all the paperwork fully filled out, but they did not even open it.

The envelope had a yellow label on the under the original address that said, "Return to Sender, Attemped-not known-Unable to forward."

That means that there is no one at the address anymore . . . Here is the address . . .

It was on the Bloomingdale print out form on the web that she filled out and sent in.

Aww, that is too bad! I think they must have been swamped with requests and they probably all ran out. I sent off for mine when Bloomie's registry program updated this year and that was a few months back...I received them and I know a few other people here did, too. They must have gone pretty quick!

Macys has a promo going where u buy $150 from select vendors on gift registries and u get a rebate for $25. The form shows individual addresses for the vendors so seems like you could get more than one rebate if you happened to be buying gifts for at least $150 from a vendor.

Well it shouldn't take more than two weeks after they received the form...that's my opinion though. I got a tracking number through a rebate website that says my rebate is being shipped. The status on that tracking number has not changed for 4 days. I will keep you posted when I get my All-Clad measuring cups.

I got the Victorinox Leak Proof Pouch set today! Only a few more items to go and I'll have received pretty much all of the registry items I sent away for!

Well, the Victorinox Travel Kit and the Pouch set were 2 different items and promotions, one from Bloomingdales and the other from Macys. So since I had registries with both of them, technically they don't look at that as duplicates.

But...I have received 2 of the exact same items from different registries. Like the Noritake Vase was on Macy's and Bloomingdales, too. I think they even went to the same redemption address, but because they are 2 different registries, they honored both.

Do you need to make an appointment with the Bridal Consultant? My neice has the matching tea set on her registry and is really upset that her registry gift request was returned unopened although it is STILL listed on the webpage!

I got the Gein coasters about 4 weeks after I sent away for them. All I did was send the form into the address listed, no bridal consultaion or anything. It could be that they have run out of them and just closed the PO Box. I would call Bloomigdales and ask them before making the long drive out there...

About the flutes, I think Bloomie's considers a total over $3000 quality. I registered a little over 5 months ago and got a free "Bride Wars" DVD for creating a registry over that amount....

I received the Lenox Flutes today...very nice and romantic, but one is broken!
The policy for broken items is that they will replace the item when you pay for 50% of its original value for the new one plus shipping and also you need to ship back the broken one. Has anyone else had this problem yet? I plan on calling them tomorrow, but if anyone has some advice on the correct approach, let me know. Thanks.

Mine weren't broke when I received them, but my Mikasa frame was and I emailed them to let them know it was broken in shipping and they sent me another one.

I don't think that if it arrived broken you are responsible for paying for it. That's wrong if that is true!

Can someone give me a quick rundown of how this works. My fiance, not so into slickdeals, and I are getting married on May 16, 2009 and I would love to see if I could land this.

My basic understanding:

You go to these stores, you register for the required amount of their product, you now have your registry set. You send in your registry form indicating that you registered for their products at set amount, and they send you the free stuff.

I am assuming that this requites the registry to NOT be fulfilled. I am aware of the "completion" gift, but am not interested in that. My main question is, even if people do not buy ANY of their items, can I still send the form in, and claim my gifts?

Refer-a-Friend Program - My cousin did this deal for me when she registered at BBB for her wedding. I received a $25 GC in the mail, on any order of $50 or more. I bought something I always wanted but I thought was too pricey. It was on clearance and I used a 20% off coupon and the $25 GC so I got it for less than $25 and it was originally over $100. Most you can register for online, but you have to mail in the printed forms and a copy of the registry. It's a great deal. For the cost of a postage stamp, paper, and envelopes you can get some pretty great stuff with high ARVs.

Just got my first of the bunch yesterday. The Wilton Armetale heart dish. So cute, and nice quality. Can't wait for the rest. Have to re-sub for Oneida though, got a hand-written postcard saying the patterns i chose aren't the ones that we're supposed to choose from. Guess I missed that part in translation.

So... if I have register at Macy's for a set of plates, bowls etc. from Calvin Klein (example) and then register for a set of plates, bowls etc. from a Vera Wang collection (example) and then I have to send my registry into both places to get the free gift, are they going to look at my registry and deny my gift because I have registered for more than one set of plates and bowls??? Sorry for my ramblings, hope my question makes sense.
I have been working on the registry for weeks because I have been so freaked about requesting the same type of gift and being denied my freebie, I qould greatly appreciate any help.

Yes, but most of the registry gifts are discontinued. My guess is that they give them away for free in an effort to get rid of them.

They don't notice or care. I've added required items to my registry, printed it,
sent for the gift, and immediately changed my registry to reflect something
else. I still got everything. Some forms, rarely, will say the item(s) must
remain on your registry for a certain amount of time so always read the fine
print at the bottom of forms. :)

Resubmit. A company might have an error in their system saying they
already sent your gift but it's unlikely.You can always refute that by
asking for a UPS shipping number and proof of your signature.

Calphalon and the other duplicates were just pure luck! But with the Noritake vase, there were actually 2 different registries you could sign up for to receive the gift: Macy's and Bloomingdales. The vases are slightly different but equally beautiful! :nod:

Congrats! I didn't see the Breville set on their website, but all the products there are between $60-$300 in price range! I estimate my total gifts to be about $1500-$1700 in value (with all the duplicates). These companies are so cool to do this for brides! :bounce:

Mostly looking forward to the laundry bag since my current one is
on it's last legs - or last drawstring.

The gifts are very nice but a bit overpriced - $100 for a crystal votive
holder? Hopefully I'll be able to get another through clearance like I did
with the Royal Doulton tea light.

The information I found was $20, but I'm not sure if this was one of the few I had to guesstimate. I added up ALL of the ARVs that companies listed, minus the coasters, the krups coffee book, the oneida utensil (they send a postcard back saying it had to be a "forever pattern" pattern?? :confused:the form that i sent doesn't though), and I didn't do the kitchenaide bible, or the $35 (or so?) recipe cd. All totals $1369 in ARV, with a few under-estimated products. So far I have received a total $220.49 worth of product, and I only just submitted my forms on Oct 15.

For submitting registry forms, did you just send in the PDF pages attached to the first page of this thread? For instance, the All-Clad 3pc Odd Size Measuring Set form says it must be mailed by May 16, 2009 and the certificate may not be "reproduced" ... Do they still accept it?

Send the appropriate form along with a copy of your registry to where each form
says. I don't know about the measuring cups but if it says to mail it by a certain
time then you should. You can always send it in anyway and see if you get
something. I messed up a submission and still got something.

If you're concerned about using a form that has been "reproduced" then don't use
it and request all the forms yourself. :dontknow: We have all gotten things by using
the forms.

That's what I miss from last year. In the wiki under each item people listed
when they sent away for it and when they got it. They also listed whether
it was UPS or USPS and whether they had to sign. I'm keeping track of
mine and will post the sent date and received dates when I get something.

You can register any time you want. The registry sites allow you to register for a
wedding, anniversary, baby, or party sometimes, as far as 3 years in advance. :nod:

Just got an EMAIL from all-clad saying that my "rebate" for the bridal registry gift is being processed and complete. woohoo, cups on their way!

I just checked my email to see if I also got an All-Clad email, I still haven't heard from them. I would advise others to check your Macy's registry ( I don't have change mine) because I did get an email from Macy's that says

Yes that is all you have to do. I haven't done all them but, the few I've done are really nice. When I start I started with the smaller ones ( that didn't require you to register for more than like 500 or something) that way the list was smaller to print and didn't use as much ink as first. hth

Oh, btw wanted to add I recieved another gift today....I think it was to replace the Royal Doulton Crystal Votive Holder - BB&B because its the only one I can figure its for (based on what I sent out) ...I got these beautiful goblets (2)....:omg:

According to Royal Doulton's website, $107.50. I have several of their tealights
in the Precious pattern and I actually spotted them on the set of the last season
of Smallville. Couldn't believe it!

There was a similar thread last year where people had registered 1-2 years before their actual wedding date and then submitted for 2 straight years, and they received all of their items! So I imagine that it is possible to submit for 2008/ 2009 and also 2009/2010.

Tracking numbers are never sent. They get too many requests and often the item
offered has to be replaced because their stock runs out. The list changes every
year at various times.

i don't have that vase, but I have some bud vases and I planted a few little mini roses bushes. You see them alot planted in little pots around valentines day, mother's day, etc, blooming. My hubby said they would die for sure but not so. Still have them nearly 10 years later.

those little roses are perfect for bud vases. I can cut one stem and have a lot of blooms on them, making them look like a little bouquet in the bud vase and they are so short no problem with them tipping over.

Yes. All registries allow you to go online and into your account and allow you
to change the date. Changing the date will not affect your ability to receive offers.

Haha, okay, now that I read shellybelly's post again, I understand that I did not receive the baker, and instead received a broken Vivo bowl. That explains the lack of handles. :) I've called in for a replacement...but still hope for the casserole dish rather than another Vivo bowl.

you don't have to add the gift to your cart - just the specified products. Like, "$3000 worth of xyz product". don't they check this stuff when you print it out to mail into them? I'm sure they count the total cost and the items (ex. flatware, chinaware, waterford by some name)

don't they check this stuff when you print it out to mail into them? I'm sure they count the total cost and the items (ex. flatware, chinaware, waterford by some name)

I've gotten stuck on a few from the Macy's trying to add just the brands to my registry


marc Jacob by Waterford is all full

Oneida 5-pc are all full

sophie conran are full

rowenta are full

international sterling silver is all full

I didn't have a problem doing it mid october. Pllus, since it's a wishlist, whether or not it's in-stock shouldn't matter. But yeah, you put all the items on your list, print them out so that as many as 4 pages of registry fit on each side of paper (i did 2 because 4 was too small for me). I highlighted all the qualifying products when i sent the registry off to each place.

It's strange, I don't know if by changing the Macy's store location to a different Macy's store if that would help or not, but it seems like just trying to add an item to your registry wish list, they have to have it allocated in their actual inventory first before they allow people to just add anything to their wishlist.

Villory and boch sent me a replacement bowl after my first one came in peices. I couldn't tell what the original one was but it came with a red lid. The new bowl didnt come with a red lid, its smaller than the lid, same shape. I'm not sure if it goes togther but the way it works is you prees the lid down and it suctions the bowl, very sharp. So far its one of my favorite pieces.

I received my bowl today also and it looked just like yours.......pieces. How do you plan on getting a replacement? I didn't know who to contact. The bowl was shoved in a box and then that box was sitting on bubble wrap in another box. Wonder why they didn't think to bubble wrap the bowl itself?? It looks like i was really nice at one time.

II have not tried going to the store yet, I might do that. Do you think selecting different Macy's stores other than the one that you registered through online (which is OOS) will result in availabilities of gifts?

There is all that information on the packing slips (2). Trouble is, they state that you have to write a claim to UPS and they have to give you a receipt for your claim, and only then can you contact the company for a replacement. I have contacted UPS and still no contact from them regarding the shipment. What a pain in the butt it's been. And yeah, all because they don't know how to pack the bowl? lol.
