YourFonts.com is a FREE online font generator that allows you to create your own TrueType fonts within a couple of minutes. Go make your own handwriting as a font!
Your own handwriting turned into your very own font for free
Optionally include your signature
You'll have your very own font within 15 minutes
Make as many fonts as you like
Use your fonts on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux
Personalize your digital scrapbook pages
Make your own "family handwriting history"
Use your fonts in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and every program that you own
I saw this and though it was really neat! I know there is another site out there that you can do this on but it costs money and here is a free alternative. You download the pdf and print it out and fill it out with your handwriting. You then upload it back to the site and it will create a font that you can use on your computer based on your handwriting.

I haven't tried this yet but if you don't have a scanner but do have a digital camera, could you try snapping a high-resolution photo of your completed form? Maybe that would be enough to create your own font.
What are the chances that someone uses your font to sign your name for fraud

Server Pretty Busy Today...
At the moment our site is overwhelmed with visitors from lifehacker.com and other blogs that pick up the news about our service. So far over 3,300 fonts have been successfully generated during the last 17 hours. We appreciate your interest in our font generator, but please understand our server is not able to process all your requests at the same time. If for some reason your upload fails, please try again at a later time. Thanks for your support!

I have done it and like it. Piece of advice - used a fine point sharpie. I used a ball point pen and the font turned out very light.

somehow I don't think it's a good idea to include your signature... can we say fraud anyone?? How convenient that this company now has a sample of all these handwritings... and I'm assuming you had to enter a name to use it??

The signature from what I understand is so that other people cant access your fonts and handwriting, if you dont want to you dont have to sign it, or you could even sign Mickey Mouse if you are that worried about someone having your signature.

We are only interested in collecting and retaining the information that is necessary to effectively run our business. We respect your right to keep your personal information private.
Uploaded Files and Generated Fonts
We never share personal information. Occasionally an attempt to generate a font fails, and then we might look into such problem to see if we can improve our font generation algorithm. So that's the only possible reason for us to use uploaded data, and even then it's only used to look into issues with our font generator. Although it makes us happy to see so many people pleased with their own custom fonts, we are by no means interested in the individual fonts generated through our service. We prefer to put time and effort in improving existing and developing new software and services.

You do not have to input anything in order to create a font. By saying that I mean no email address, address, name or nothing!
By the way, thanks! Mine came out great!

I'm guessing people would want to read what I wrote and therefore would not want to be subjected to my own handwriting, but I like this idea in regards to capturing my daughter's primitive handwriting.
