"I have just received word via IRC (#L4D on Gamesurge.net) that the timeless CAL has possibly gone down the tubes. KevinD of CAL said the following at 8 EST: "All CAL staff have been locked out of the site by the new owner and CAL and its leagues sit in limbo. Please feel free to leave your feedback with the new owner at scott.valencia@gmail.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . All matches MUST NOT BE PLAYED. They are on hold until further notice. We have no idea if/when it will return." And Murdock of CAL said the following at 8:31 EST this evening: "As everyone knows, CAL was purchased by a middle-eastern media company. Part of the agreement was that all admins would be fired upon transfer of the league. Right now the ten servers that the CAL database has been located on has been moved to one server in Germany and the admins have been locked out of the league."

In a GotFrag thread questioning the truth of CAL's supposed demise, Angel Munoz (or someone pretending to be him) said: "CAL and AVault.com are down because of a database error due to mechanical failure. Fortunately, the CAL database was successfully transferred to its new host in the UK and should be back up within 12 hours."

It's not dead. There are talks of making it a pay to pay league with ladders. It has been rumored for a long time along with a new acs.

Update on CAL's Acquisition

As previously announced, CAL was sold to the newly formed CPL Holdings Group, LTD., of the United Arab Emirates.

A few weeks ago the acquisition was finalized and this weekend we have commenced the process of transferring CAL to new host servers in the United Kingdom. While we are hoping for minimum interruption to CAL operations, it is likely that you will experience downtime while trying to access the CAL website.

Please bear with us as we complete the transfer process to the new owners.
