i beleive you are reffering to PINECONE, not standford.
stanford has seperate amounts for every study.
the amount will be in the description, some are cash rewards, usually in amazon GCs and some are raffles, usually also for GCs

I hear ya. I'm relatively new to the surveys, but I have noticed a couple of paying surveys that were blocked because of a previous lottery survey. I think a $50 gift certificate is a big enough prize to take a shot, but I may start passing on those $25 raffles.

I also got the gc email, but didn't cash it in. I usually start with the most recent emails and work my way through, but for some reason I started at the other end today, and I'm glad I did! huh that was odd. I also received the GC, but haven't cashed it. I'm not sure amazon is even willing to invalidate GC's. Perhaps we'll be able to just email her back the code, she can check with amazon to make sure the code's still unused, and then just email them to someone else.
