Anyone get paid for the face study? I got an email saying it had been leaked to the public so that was delaying payment but nothing yet...
I didn't do that one..( I had something close to it before so I was not allowed ) but I would keep an eye on that...If this was leaked it was their mistake NOT the registered users ... BUT They may have to go thru the responses though to see who was reg'd and who wasn't....and at that who took the study that should have/without conflicting studies.. ..that would be a LONG job

The social views study
Yup that is the one I got the $10 gift certificate from Amazon. This was the email I got:
Dear Participant,
Thank you for completing Part 1 and Part 2 of the Social Views Study. We appreciate immensely your willingness to complete both parts. As compensation for your participation, you will be receiving a $10.00 gift card to Amazon.com. The order for your gift card has been placed with Amazon.com and so it should be emailed to you shortly. Because of the large number of participants in the study, the order may take a day or two to process. If you don’t receive your gift card by Wednesday, November 12, please let me know. Please make sure that your email is set to receive emails from Amazon.com as the gift card will be emailed to you directly from the online retailer.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Best,
Becky Schaumberg

To my participants,
Thank you so much for completing the study called "Conflicts at Work 2" using Sona systems for the Stanford Graduate School of Business. These data will be very valuable for me and my faculty advisor.
I have completed the lottery drawing and will send you an email following this one telling you whether or not you have won. For those of you who have won, I just ordered your Amazon.com gift certificates and you should get them soon. However, Amazon.com is sometimes slow sending out the certificates, and I apologize if any delay occurs. If any of you have not received your gift certificates within 24 hours of receiving this email, please let me know and I will contact Amazon to find out what the problem is. You might also want to check your SPAM email folder because Amazon.com emails are often labeled as SPAM by email clients.
Again, thanks for participating!

Most of the time we find out by checking the website (or when some wonderful person here gives us a heads-up).
I'd say that only about 5% of the surveys I do come from responding to an email invitation.
If I EVER win one of the lotteries (one in 25 chance - HAH!), you'll think Ed McMahon had made a personal visit to my house!
I'm not holding my breath. ;)

What does anyone know about GSB Behavioral? It's tied into Stanford where I did click on a link someone sent me and looked like the identical signup page. Been waiting for an email confirm and never got one yet. :O then of course I kinda forgot today.....
Nonetheless, I really enjoyed doing the study last night - it was rather stimulating as opposed to going into a coma with an OTX survey. I can't imagine how OTX can possibly compile results for anything worthwhile in regards to how their surveys are structured.

Oh contrar - when I went in to take the survey, it says that it does pay $5 via Amazon. Unless I'm reading this incorrectly, it PAYS $5 and is still there.
TIME INVOLVEMENT: Your participation in this experiment will take approximately 20 minutes.
PAYMENTS: You will receive an Amazon.com gift certificate worth $5 as payment for your participation. It will be emailed to you at an address that you specify in the questionnaire early next week.

Not all surveys are available to all people. Some are filtered so that only certain people who meet whatever criteria is desired get to see the survey in their list.
As with FVBuddy, I do not see this $5 paying survey when I log in; I only have the Current Affairs lottery.

It does not mention the $5 on the first page of Current Affairs - only when you click on the option to view the website. The info above in red was copied from the page of that non-paying survey. I really don't think I'm totally losing my marbles yet. Naturally, the study is gone from their available studies.
Regardless, will a lottery survey be posted and upon entering the survey, could it "surprise" you and further say it's a paying survey? That is exactly how I read it and understood it. This is a first for me and was wondering what all your experiences have been in such a situation (that's if you've ever exerienced this).
What a mystery........

The bad thing with this one is that I had to wait until they e-mailed a password, by then I couldn't do it right away-since they said it takes 20-30 minutes and you can't start and come back to it. I didn't have the time right away and just tried a few hours later and it won't let me. I usually do them right away also, this one was just different.

I can appreciate that and it didn't take but 15 minutes (but we don't know that until completion).
What I'm wondering is if they have so many people sign up (more than needed) and when the quota is full, they pull the plug? It doesn't sound fair but could this be true?
What really grinds my gears is going into a survey for five minutes or more gathering all my information then saying the survey is closed. Heck, how many times a day does that happen? Oh well.........

During the study you will also be asked some questions about your personality. By completing the questionnaire, you will be entered into a drawing to win 1 of 10, $10.00 gift cards to Amazon.com. There is a 1/8 chance of winning a gift card.
