We want to thank you for participating in our Consumer Participation Program. Your opinion DOES count. Knowing what our consumers are thinking is an invaluable asset to us.

We’ve noticed that there has been some confusion with our compensation policy for Informational surveys. Below is L’Oreal USA Consumer Participation Program policy regarding Informational Surveys and a description of different surveys that you can participate in.

1. Initial enrollment Mapping Surveys: These surveys are sent out to obtain your product usage information (skin/hair/makeup and contact information).
2. Pre-qualification Surveys: These surveys are used to obtain information to pre-qualify for a future study
3. Study Screener/Survey: This type of survey is used to qualify you for an existing study where product will be sent to your home to evaluate and you will then be asked answer a final questionnaire after product usage.
4. Informational Surveys: These surveys are sent to obtain information regarding your product usage, cosmetic/hair/skin habits, product likes/dislikes etc.. (These surveys are the only surveys that are tracked towards product compensation.) You must complete 5 Informational Surveys to receive a gift.

We hope that this will help to clarify that only Informational Surveys will count towards any product compensation.

The shorter PTs don't usually yield a great gift. I did a 2-week acne pad study and received Loreal Go-360' Clean as my compensation. However, the gifts for the two-month PTs seem to be amazing. :)

I do not get why people are so pissed about the products saying "Tester". They are not used products, they are just in-house products that are kept on hand for their in person testing. We get great products for answering a handful of questions or trying a product we use anyway/would like to use. Most of the thank you gifts are not testers and a lot of people receive product tests and thank you gifts that they would not get to use otherwise because they cannot afford them or simply would not be willing to spend the money on them.

I think people are thinking "tester" means it could be used or something, which is not the case. So I think that's where everyone's disappointment is coming from. Not that they are being ungrateful.

you can... the cream i just got says tester so tiny on the bottom its not noticeable unless you point it out. i know on the cleanser i got before it was pretty noticeable.

Well it probably says TESTER so you wouldn't be able to exchange it or give it to anyone else, since it is supposed to be for you. Its not like they're sending you a previously used product, just my opinion. But there is also no need to down others for stating their opinion, I'm sure not everyone agrees with other people a lot of the times, just refer to "If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all!" IT WORKS!!!

Personally I think they mark our gifts as a Tester so that they cannot be returned to a retail store. As fay as being able to give them away - I one got a face mask that was just not something I would use... I gave it to a girlfriend and she loved it. If you tell the person how you got it they wont care that it says tester. Unless you are trying to pass it off as a real gift.

im thinking that if yoiu are doing a product test you wont be emailed or chosen to be in another at the same time.

it sort of sucks. i've only been chosen to do one product test :( . it was a Loreal moisturizer. i could tell by the packaging, even though they tapes up the outside. they always seem to do PTs for items i dont use, like cosmetics. i only use lipgloss or lip balms. i was hoping to get in on the lip balm one but didnt :(

i wonder if they'll do a hair care one soon :unsure:

Glad to hear I'm not the only 1 not receiving anything. I was actually thinking about writing them to see if I had somehow been removed from the panel-just seemed odd to not see anything when I log in and I've been trying to check everyday so I wouldn't miss anything again.

For those of you doing the lip balm test, please refresh my memory. I didn't see anything on the sheet they gave us about this & want to make sure I do it right. Are we supposed to be using the lip balm so many certain times a day no matter what? If we don't like the one we have for a certain week do we have to keep reapplying it over and over? The ones I have liked I have used several times a day like I normally would... but a couple of them I have really not liked. Thanks.:)

I am in the lip balm study too. I have loved some of them & HATED a few. I tried them, but it would have absolute torture to use the ones I really hated, all day, for an entire week:eek:

It's so funny, after 11 weeks of the lip balms, now it feels weird to use one just out of my purse without paying attention to all kinds of details about it. lol

Got past age and after clicking on the types of products used on hair, you have to go in detail of names etc. Then got a page that I will be contacted if I prequalify.

Expect a lot and enjoy it! I received the huge bag of goodies for the mascara study that was worth over $300 and then I received a "We"re Sorry" goody bag for the lip balm study before it even started because they overbooked and had to cut some of us. They weren't obligated to send anything because we hadn't done any work but they have truly proven that they value their product testers as they sent about $155 worth of products.
