For the deal-seaking audiophiles!!

This is a free trial to Peter Gabriel's project with B&W's Music Club (aka Society of Sound). They have a subscription service where they offer a new lossless audio album every month. The free trial is 3 months free of select tracks.

The subscription service isn't a horrible deal either... it would shake out to be $5 per lossless album.

Here's a good article on 16 vs. 24 bit audio. (http://www.tweakheadz.com/16_vs_24_bit_audio.htm)

Just a note from the Bowers and Wilkins website:

Which download file format should I choose?

With Music Club you currently have a choice of three files and two Lossless file formats: Apple Lossless (16 bit) or FLAC (16 bit & 24 bit).

The decision as to which one to choose when downloading your album is simple:

* If you use iTunes to listen to music on your computer and/or an iPod to listen to music on the move then choose the Apple Lossless option.
* If you don’t use iTunes then the FLAC download is the one for you.

I pity the fool that TC's that he can't hear a difference on even his "high-end Bose PC speakers"...
