I think adding a seller rating forum to slickdeals would be a helpful addition, provide a few conditions.
While I realize may such website exsist, such as resellerratings.com which advertise here, I often find them very unhelpful because it seems to me that frequently disgruntled people use them as place to sound off at.
Have a slickdeals specifics seller rating forum would better allow us to evaluate the seller because the comment would come from people we know, love, and trust!
My primary condition would that a rather high criteria be set for thoose would be allowed to contribute. For example you must been a slickdeals member for 3 months and/or have 100+ posts. This would allow us to get the opinions of the dedicated slickdealers. I'm somewhat worried about make on of the criteria be post count because I don't like seeing people making useless post just to up their counts, but I think you can see my idea.
I'd love to your hear other peoples thoughts and suggestion!

Good idea. I was trying a thread dedicated to that http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13159 but I realized very quickly that one thread or one person cannot do much about sellers ratings. We need to be organized.

Sure! That's a good idea. I just try to think broader. Not just rebate but the other factors as well. If we make not rating not by a single number and category but categorize it, then it might actually work. Let's say we make the following categories:
1) granting the coupons;
2) availability of product on-line while on sale;
3) product availability in-store while on sale;
4) granting rebates;
5) Customer service in-store;
6) Customer service on-line or over the phone;
7) returns, restocking fees, etc.
May be some more, may be some are extra. The community needs to decide I guess. The point is we do need a simple rating, b/c there are lots of other sources for that which generally cares if the seller will be honest and customer friendly in general. People vote there by putting the numbers. Here we care if we can wrap up the slickdeal and therefore other issues are important. Do You agree?
I checked out the link to resellersratings.com. Check it out as well. For example, Office Max rating is based on the less than 8 reviews over the last 6 months. I think we can do better here on slickdeals. Agree?

Actually, a very large portion of this information is usually posted in the thread under a lot of the deals. Not to mention the fact that www.reselleratings.com already does this. I think that it might end up being more work than it is worth for someone to moderate the thing. I sure wouldn't want to do it.
I think that if there was to be an addition to slickdeals that is worth the time to set up, it would be adding a tech support forum (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13398) for the various deals here. I know that I personally spend a great deal of time offering tech help to those in need. A forum dedicated to this would also serve to help keep the lounge cleaner and to allow more users to get the help they need.

I know that there is a great deal of information is somewhere in the threads. The only problem is it is buried. Once the deal is posted I always need to think and do a little research whether or not the deal is going to work. You also might notice that usually up to 50% of the discussion is about granting the rebates and coupons. Sometimes there could be 20-40 posts for that. I read all of them and then just realize it may not work with high probability. Sellers rating would help I think. Last time there was a deal for $20 after $80 MIR in Office Max. When I saw 3 attached rebates and remember a lots complains about OM, I just gave up. I did not want spend my time, read and realize at the end that I just waisted my time. I think the purpose of slickdeal is to offer people a slickdeal after all rather than pain in the a** when the deal is not working. Remember:
"...Browse around and you're bound to save more than a few bucks!..." did not mean spend a lot of time.
