* FREE admission to Michigan State Parks - May 30-31. Present your state of Michigan ID to receive free admission for you and your family. Admission is valid only for park entry - all other park fees apply.

It'll save you a few bucks. Nothing major, but free is free.

Michigan charges for entry into state parks?

Well, sort of. Technically, they don't charge you to enter, but they charge your car to enter. It's $6 daily or $24 annually. But my parents' property borders on a large state park, and we walk in all the time. http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10365-82938--,00.html
