My personal pet peeve -- advertising on web sites that play sound, or video with sound. And now we have one on our beloved slickdeals.net way down on the bottom right of the page.

Please realize that a lot of people visit this site at work. They don't need a sudden advertisement blaring out and advertising that they're not currently working. But they do need that audio on to help notify them when they have email!

I totally agree with you on it. I have slickdeals.net set as my home page for over 1.5years now, and with this ad, it really caused me to put back yahoo/msn back as my home page. Sorry SD, but this time you messed up big time. I understand it is necessary to use advertisement to pay for server fees and such, but at least try to mute it, and if anyone is interested, they'll play it.

This was not an intentional advertisement on our part. The ad network put it on there without consulting us and we're working to remove it as quickly as possible.

Nuked it until we can find out which agency is responsible. :)
