Don't know if this is a "can do" or a "can't do", but it would be nice if the "inserts" that we can use in posting could have the behavior that they insert to where the cursor is, rather than automatically at the end of the message. Smilies, tags, images, urls.

This seems to work for me. Which browser program are you using. I am still on IE.

It works in IE not FF, where all inserts get diverted to the end of the message.

You could use the bbcodeXtra add on to insert with FF.

Does not work correctly in Opera 8.

You could use the bbcodeXtra add on to insert with FF.Thanks, I'll try that on my own machines, but I use a variety of systems at client and other sites, it's not practical to change theirs.

Edit:

I just installed bbcodeXtra, and when I click on smilies in the menu to the right of the screen they are appended not inserted. What am I doing wrong?

Aha, must be a browser-specific issue. I've been using Firefox, and was just assuming that it was a universal behavior of the forum software.

Did not try with smilies. Does work with urls, img, etc. with the right click options.

Vbulletin v3.5 fixes this. It should be coming out soon so we'll wait for that.

Yes, Mr. Peterson, I'm working hard your computer. I'll have it fixed for you in no time. I just need to break 10,000 posts and you can have it back.
