The BzzScapes are sorta like Digg. You are bookmarking websites, blogs, videos, etc that pertain to that particular BzzScape. One of the problems I've seen so far is that you can add the same thing multiple times (I accidentally did it once) so it seems as though people could bookmark the same site over and over again and get multiple credits for bookmarking it.

The job is a work from home job - anyone can do it. They are limiting it to US residents only (thank goodness!), though.

I haven't done anything with BzzScapes yet. I looked it and I got so confused that I just logged out. Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm going to try to figure it out this weekend.

Well, try not to let it make you feel bad. There are very few people that know for sure what this latest inside joke is all about.

That's why I think we need a new thread. We need a place where we can discuss bzzagent. We can post when we have new campaigns. We can ask questions when we are confused about changes on bzzagent.com. New users to bzzagent can come and ask us questions when they first start out. Know what I mean? Maybe it's just a pipedream but I think that others would find a thread like that very useful on slickdeals. :cloud9:

I think we should all forget about "IT". I think that certain people got it. Which is fine, we all get different campaigns. It just should have probably stayed in private conversations if it were suppossed to be hush hush instead of making everyone else feel excluded. Just my thoughts on "IT". Although I have on occasion wanted to start a new BZZ agent thread myself so that new people wouldn't always feel like an outsider. Again, just my thoughts.

Maybe we need to start a third bzzagent thread that is to be used only for "regular" agents that are *not* included in the private discussions. That way no one will have to feel left out all the time. I'll have to ask a mod if it's okay.

Has anyone done anything for the BzzScapes yet? I have been working all morning and I'm not making much progress. I wonder if it takes awhile for the rankings to update.

Mine took 24 hours to fully update, and change from "incomplete". I thought they would go to "completed" status as soon as I had 5 content items, but they didn't. I only did 2 of them, so I could get my honeycomb for 10 BzzScapes items. I don't folllow them or really see them as useful.

That's what I was thinking. I am trying not to send it links that I've already seen but it's tough.

I sent in a suggestion that they make the BzzScapes more like Digg where the first person that submits a link gets credit for it and everyone else is just bumping it when they submit that same link. It's supposed to be like any other social bookmarking website. The better, more informative websites are highly rated and have comments. If you search for something on the BzzScapes site, the most popular site will come up first and you should be more satisfied with the results than if you just went to google and started searching. Of course, that's the *idea*, that doesn't mean it's actually like that, especially with the job contest.

I got my Bic Bzz Kit in the mail today. I forgot that I had even got that campaign. Can always use another razor. :)

Jono is taking a lot flack on the message boards for BzzScapes and he seems
rather frustrated. I don't think people can help but be confused about some or
all of these changes. If he wants people to contribute more then they are going
to expect more.

And I've created 4 BzzScapes which is rather tedious. Thankfully he says you can
just contribute to one already created and that will count! Was great though that my status went up right after I reached 10 contributions. Thought I'd have to wait till the beginning of next month for the new status to take effect.

Ok I SERIOUSLY hope Bzz reviews the opinions for FrogPonds before giving credit for them... have you looked at some of them? They are as bad as some reports I've read. For example... this is the entire "opinion" for the Beyond the Rack frog...

Got my Windex kit today. I really didn't realize you have to rinse after cleaning... says "results will vary depending on water quality" so I am not hopeful.... we have hard water here and have to be sure and wipe things off really well, like when washing the car, otherwise it leaves spots rather badly. I am thinking I would do better to stick with the hand sprayer of Windex and use some kind of plain pads on this thing. Will see how it goes though.

Back in the old days of Bzz. before shalamalongadingdong... when reports got you endless status and points that were used on merchandise directly from Bzz, and you were actually penalized for not doing reports, people would post all kinds of shlocky crap just to get more reports in. It wasn't unusual to see reports that said "Gave someone a coupon." I am not kidding. There were lots like that, and probably still are. I don't look at the report map anymore because it usually just pisses me off.

I might not like the frogs much but I do them and I do them in what I consider *good faith*. I seriously look a site over, click through several links, and really try and see what it's all about. I think if Bzz felt everyone did the same then we would be allowed to do more than just 3 a month to gain status and more keys. But then again, the keys are supposed to be at least a little bit special so... oh well.

I changed my profile so no one could see my personal info. I was shocked when I saw it had defaulted to showing my state AND my town!!! I NEVER say yes to allowing other agents to see my reports, just because I am a little paranoid about having to watch what I say. I agree for the effort the reward should be there.. BUT it seems a bit Loosie Goosie ...and the control factors are not in place yet.... There have been times I did not participate in these ideas ( last year the collage, very similar to the Bzzscapes idea) However, I do not feel pressured nor punished if it is not my cup of tea...
Bzz agent to me is always the home of honesty ...I will give my opinion honestly and then move on from a concept I am unhappy with.... no need for me to worry about it... just ain't my thing....

I changed my profile so no one could see my personal info. I was shocked when I saw it had defaulted to showing my state AND my town!!! I NEVER say yes to allowing other agents to see my reports, just because I am a little paranoid about having to watch what I say. You know, you say a name here, a place there etc...lots of crazies out there!

i just found it and yes it was defaulted to show to the world city and state so i made those private:)

I sent this in on the website's contact form:

Please make the default profile display settings "private." Not everyone is tech-savvy enough to figure out how to hide that and there is a very real concern about the amount of information shared without consent. Some people use the same username on multiple sites and they don't want people to know exactly where they are.

It should be very obvious how to show/hide that info - perhaps put a link to the privacy settings on the Profile display page.

Got my Windex kit today. I really didn't realize you have to rinse after cleaning... says "results will vary depending on water quality" so I am not hopeful.... we have hard water here and have to be sure and wipe things off really well, like when washing the car, otherwise it leaves spots rather badly. I am thinking I would do better to stick with the hand sprayer of Windex and use some kind of plain pads on this thing. Will see how it goes though.

Ugh, I am totally disgusted by the crap that people are adding to the BzzScapes. The people in first and second places are posting "reviews" and forum posts over and over again to get more points.

I am not sure anyone has even read the actual info about the job sometimes... it is NOT automatically going to *the* top contributor, but to one out of EIGHT over the eight week period. They are taking the top contributor each week so there will be 8 people... here is what it says:


"# Become the Top Contributor of that BzzScape by the following Monday at 9 a.m., and you'll secure your spot as 1 of 8 weekly qualifiers for the grand prize
# In July, each of the 8 weekly qualifiers will submit a resume and a one-question written interview, and we'll pick the Agent who can kick it with BzzScapes the best."

So they are submitting 8 different scapes and it looks like you would only be able to be the top contributor one time, so they can have 8 people to interview. I sincerely hope they are picking through the total crap being posted. Also, having to submit a resume might also mean they actually get someone at least slightly qualified.

It's just getting frustrating because it isn't just one or two people posting junk, it's MOST of the top 10 people. I'm in like 5th or 6th right now and I have just stopped submitting links until they figure out a better system.

Maybe next week will be better, especially when people realize they have to dedicate 40+ hours to get into the top spot, they aren't going to want to do that every week just to have a chance to win the job.

Well that 2nd link you posted pissed me off so much I left a comment stating that I felt it had nothing constructive to add in terms of giving people any kind of useful information... or something like that. I am so steamed I can't even remember exactly what I said. Like I said in my long rant about it yesterday, I truly hope BzzScapes goes away as an experiment that just didn't work out.

And I sent off a note to Bzz saying that I really hope they are checking these links because so many of them are rather irrelevant to the topic of the BzzScape.

That privacy thing is horseshit...what makes them think the majority wants to share all that info. I don't recall giving them permission to disclose my city/state and age to all of America.

If anyone from Bzz is reading this, I highly suggest a change is made so all accounts are private by default. There are a lot of loons out there and I'm sure we've all offended someone from time to time.

.....and the LEAST they could do is send out an email explaining how to change those settings to every Bzzagent...don't leave it up to us to find on Slickdeals (thanks chia, I never would have known otherwise)...

I'm really sorry. :hug: The integrity will decline. It's impossible to go through over 2,000+ BzzScapes to determine what is a duplicate, what is authentic and so forth. Unfortunately, "contests" seem to tarnish things. I know you were hopeful. Perhaps Monday's new BzzScape will spark you again. I wish you tremendous success...I think posting 200+ BzzScapes :worship: is a great acheivement!

Actually they did/do have a system in place to eliminate duplicates. I was in the beta and had to email my BzzScape idea to them to make sure it wasn't already taken.

Scumming around in the pond today. Tried to do the featured Bryer's one yesterday and it totally shut me out of Bzzz.... grrr.

Bzzscapes is a freakin joke. What a WASTE of space, and people's time! I searched some really basic ones and there wasn't any for most- like Home Depot? Philly Cream Cheese? Come on! Some I made and *busted* my tail doing so. Hmmm this or three pondscums a month? NO BRAINER! I told them so in the survey they sent out. Duh, I hope they can it.

I was scratching my head at the Windex survey, how much have we Bzzed it since we got the campaign a week or so ago and no product in hand. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... Yay, 3 friggin points. What an insult, they should take their three points and shove them where their stinger don't shine. If it wasn't for the fact that's how they weed us out to decide who gets campaigns, would we DO any of these for 3 points? It's like a penny, or less. WTF? I mean, we click a link in an email and close the window once it loads and we get 5 points. We sit here and answer pages of questions and get 3. Jerks.

After looking at all the b*tching on this thread the last couple days, my mood is quite OFF. I did the one beta scape, but there is no way I will be generating an additional 9 scapes for one honeycomb. Especially in view of what people are posting as comments, which for one person included repeat postings of "great info" - why not script it right away and save us all the pretense that the comments are real and not just an easy way to get a top spot
