You are invited to participate in a study about online women’s magazines conducted by The Ohio State University. We are looking for FEMALE participants in the 30-45 yrs age range who live in the U.S.

To show our great appreciation of your participation, you will receive $20 upon completion. The payment will be sent through the PayPal online payments system (www.paypal.com), which allows you to purchase things online, withdraw money by check, or send money to your regular bank account. Alternatively, you can receive an Amazon giftcard (www.amazon.com) .

The study is about how you respond to women’s online magazines. Participation consists of two sessions (approx. 10 and 15 min) that are to be completed ONLINE.

The first session collects general information about participants, their attitudes and their life circumstances. The second session presents an online magazine to find out how you respond to it as well as to issues that many women find interesting. As women's magazines pertain to women's personal life situations, many questions will relate to personal views. However, all responses can be provided in standardized format and will remain entirely anonymous.

Some techical requirements apply (plug-in Microsoft Silverlight needed, can be downloaded before taking the study).

I received that same email when I emailed her to ask her why I had not received the second survey. Been waiting on it for the past week. Today its been a week exactly and still nothing. My brother and sister in law are staying with us, and she also went and tried for this survey and has not received the second one either - so I emailed her explaining the situation - offered to send in a faxed copy of our licenses so I can prove that we are indeed two different people - and havent heard anything yet.

I only took the survey once and no one else in my household took it or even tried to take it so her response is a bunch of BS.

I have not heard anything about payment either . . . guess I will be emailing them.

At the beginning of both parts of the survey there was a login page where you had to create login information. Let's hope I did that right :shake:

I'm really frustrated right now because I'm worried I'm just going to get the brush off even though she said she'd send the payment. I followed all the rules and I'm fully qualified for the study and here I sit while they seem to be making excuses for not paying out.

Got the same exact emails. They can google my name and find out I AM in the age paremeters . . . AND my name on my email matches my login information and actual name . . . Hope I get my $20.

i just got the invite for the second part and completed it so that is weird..

I also just completed the 2nd part. Yeah!

I spent more time trying to get my $20 than I actually spent taking the surveys! :P

First, the emails back and forth to confirm that yes, I am female even though I share an email with my husband. Then even though my email was on my paypal, it wasn't the one I signed up to paypal with so it needed to be confirmed. For some reason paypal wouldn't send the confirmation email.

So I called paypal and spent 30 minutes on the phone with them changing preferences and crap and still no email. Ask them, can't they just add it? No. Get put on hold 3 times and then HUNG up on.

So screw it, I sign up for a new paypal account under this email to get payment (after all this I'm getting my damn payment! LOL) and it's not in there. 0 transactions.
Make another call to paypal and while I'm on hold, Wa La....it's showing my payment.

Then I have to add my bank account because after all that I'm not paying $1.50 to have the check sent out. Now I'm waiting to confirm the bank account and the e-check to clear.

Lesson learned, make sure your email you are using for a survey is on your paypal account and make sure you have a girly sounding email name !! :D

Mishty, maybe try to call her. If you click on the bio link in the email, it takes you to her staff web page and has her phone number.

If she asked for your details that is a good sign. That is what happened with me, they are likely backed up with emails since everyone started emailing last night. I think you'll likely get your payment Mon or Tues like some other people were told.

Slyvia is the only one I've been in contact with via email but I believe Greg is the one that is actually sending out the payments. (at least the paypal ones) When she had confirmed my identity, she sent me an email with a CC to Greg that said to send my payment.

While I do feel sympathetic that they are getting swamped,I really think it's their responsibility to make sure to close the survey after the desired number or responses and/or have software that can filter out multiple fraudulent attempts. I'm pretty sure they had a good idea after the first survey, just how many people had taken it since they had to send out the second one. Any questions about the validity of the survey takers and the number of survey takers should have been dealt with before sending out the second one.

I do agree to give them some time. Already several people have heard back that they will be sending out more payments Monday and Tuesday.

The study was only open to a limited amount of people. Once they reached that quota, they closed the survey....so "thousands of people" could not have participated in it.

And we're supposed to be understanding when we take the survey, follow all their rules/procedures and do everything asked of us... only to turn around and be accused of fraud and them refusing to pay... but yet still use our results even after we tell then we are fully able and willing to provide proof of what they are accusing us of being fraudulent about? well, I DID just get paid, but I would like to say that I am sure there were SOME people that were LESS than honest about completing it. We all know those folks who are "in for 200" I hate that there are some SDers like that, but I do not think we can assume everyone was honest, just like we cannot assume everyone was dishonest.

I think that balletrina was trying to say that we should all be a little patient with them before we assume that they will not pay anyone.

I wrote to Greg regarding my paypal acct. since the emails are different to make sure the the payment would go thru. I received a pleasant response within a 1/2 hr. from Greg. In the mean time, I figured out how to add my "surveys" email to my paypal account (duh!). Hopefully I will see a payment soon.

Yes, definitely watch for it. I almost thought it was spam. Sender was listed as "Gift cards redeemable at Amazon" and the subject title was simple "sent you an Amazon.com gift card!"

I chose Amazon payment and have not received it yet. Maybe it takes longer than Paypal since it is an instant thing and with Paypal you have to wait. Anyone else choose Amazon and are still waiting for payment?

For me, the first notice about the paypal payment (e-check) being pending, then the second one was that it had cleared ($20 in my account)
