Qualifying identification it says? What does that mean, is this for something specific?

I got one of the 11% off passes last year when I went to Macy's in Chicago. The pass is valid at all U.S. Macy's stores, however, I'm not sure if every store distributes them. They are supposed to be for visitors only, but I'm not sure how far away you have to live from the store to be considered a visitor. I know you have to show your I.D. to get one.

I was vacationing in Tennessee last year and picked up a handful of these pamphlets at the Visitor's Center.
They expired on March 31, 2009 so I'm glad to have these again.

This has always been around. Some stores offer these to visitors, but like someone already said, it's really up to the employee to determine if your a "Visitor" or not.
