Got into a SP just now about "tv shows and movies". That was the title (didnt catch a number). You take a screener, and if you qualify, you download software called "PreCast". You watch unreleased movies, tv shows, and commercials. Then take a survey on it.

Anybody else who ran unto this one, PM me with the survey number and i'll edit this post.

Today I got a health quiz with a $50.00 payout.

I DNQ for it and didn't get the survey #.

I have NEVER gotten ANYTHING from SS other than freaking entries.
I DNQ everything.
I am beginning to feel like it's a hoax.

Would you like to participate in a consumer research study, and be paid for providing your opinions?

We have limited opportunities to join a group of adult tobacco users who are 21 and over, who test products and provide their opinions so manufacturers can learn what YOU think. If you qualify, we will pay you each time you participate in a study and you will receive product (at no cost) to use and evaluate.

MRSI is a market research company – we do not sell products, nor will you EVER be asked by MRSI to purchase any products to test. If you want to check out our company website, go to www.mrsi.com.

The research we conduct is solely for the purpose of obtaining your opinions. Any information or responses you provide will be strictly confidential.

Please hit the ‘next’ button to take a short survey and learn more about our consumer panel.

Throughout the survey, you will always see a button at the bottom of the page (you may have to scroll down to see some of the longer pages). The 'Next page' button accepts your answers and advances to the next page.

Based on the information you have provided, you are qualified to join our adult tobacco user research panel. As a member of this panel you will be asked to test tobacco products up to six times per year and you will be paid each time you participate. A typical test includes 8 packs of test cigarettes, which will be provided at no cost.

We will only ask you to evaluate test product and share your opinions with us. We are not trying to sell you anything; we are simply interested in your opinions. Your participation is voluntary. You can choose to stop participating at any time.

For each test that you qualify for, we will phone or email you to ask if you are interested in the test.

Participation involves the following steps:

Would you be willing and able to do this? Please select one response per row

Yes No
Pick up test product at a nearby mall or research facility.

For most tests, you will be provided 8 packs of test cigarettes at no charge. You will be paid $25 each time you participate.
At the facility, you must provide a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, military ID, etc.) confirming you are age 21 to 64.

We are required to keep this proof of your age in our files before we can give you free test product, therefore we will need to make a copy. If your ID contains a social-security number, it will be blanked-out, so it does not appear in our files. This will be kept strictly confidential, and will not be used for any other purpose.
Review and sign a "Voluntary Participation Form" the first time you pick up test product. This form outlines the research process, and ensures that you understand that your participation is voluntary, and you can choose to discontinue the test at any time.
Take the product home, and use enough of the test product to form an opinion. You will have one week to test the product.
Call a toll-free number and complete a short survey (approximately five minutes) before a specific deadline about the test product - you are only asked for your opinion.

Great! We will send you a Welcome Packet that will explain your role in helping our clients develop products and services for you, their consumer. Finally, for you to join this panel, we’ll need to record your complete name and street address. Please fill out your contact information in the spaces below (note: this information will not be shared or sold with any other business entity; it will only be used for the purpose of this research).

When we call you to participate in your first test, we will let you know which locations are available for that particular test. There are only a few short questions remaining.

Thank you very much for agreeing to join our panel. You will soon receive a welcome packet in the mail. Please keep an eye out for it; it should be coming soon!

If you need to contact us, or if you do not receive your welcome packet within four to six weeks, please call our toll-free number 1-800-SAY-MRSI (please print this page or write down the phone number and the account number at the bottom of the screen) and ask to speak to the POL Adult Smoker Panel Manager. Thank you again for your time and cooperation.

If you know other adult tobacco users, age 21 and over who might be interested, please refer them to this website www.SmokerPanel.com. Thank you, and have a nice day!

Please click 'Finish Survey' to submit your data.

I took it. I haven't gotten paid. I emailed and they just said that their "research partner" hasn't gotten back to them yet.

Question: Did anyone take an invoke on 11/5/08 from surveyspot? I took one, it offered an additional amount of money, but don't remember what it was about (I want to say Visa sponsored and it was about credit card promotions) or what the survey # was. Any help with that would be much appreciated.

i got paid for my $30 one today, but it was from 11/01/2008.

Oh, you know what. I think that is the date we took the prequalifying survey. That would describe the difference in dates. Has anyone been paid for the invoke on a new Visa credit card promotion? It was taken a few days earlier than the cancer one.

How on earth can you tell payments that you are due
I didn't write down survey numbers but I am sure I qualified for a couple that paid a few $$ but I can't really figure out anything on their website...

There isn't any way to tell what surveys you have or have not completed via the Survey Spot website. You need to manually keep track of them yourself and then cross them off once you have received payment. When payment is posted to your account, it will include a reference number and survey title so that should help you cross-reference it back to your list of surveys you have taken.

I highly suggest keeping a spreadsheet (or some other sort of record) of all surveys that you take with the survey company name, survey title, payment amount due, and reference number. Approx. every three months I go through my spreadsheet and see what I still need to be paid for and in most cases, after I email the companies the money will magically appear in my account.

Ok after emailing them, they paid me for the Visa one. It was $20. However, both that one and the cancer insurance one promised more money. It's time to shoot some emails!

You are completely right. Most research companies stop doing research around mid-December, and wait until around mid-January to really kick things back up again. I have gotten 3 surveyspot in the past week, and maybe a Greenfield a day by going to the site. Usually get 5-6x that amount, so it's definitely the holiday season.

I got a survey spot survey today and an opinion outpost at the same time. LUCKILY I did the opinion outpost first which paid $1.00. The survey spot paid nothing. Turns out it was exactly the same survey. I wish I could figure out where the surveys I am getting secondhand through survey spot are coming from because they're really ripping us off with these "entries" that they're getting paid to collect.

You should have waited to ask for the check since it was only a measly 2 bucks over $600. You could have requested it on Jan1 and not had to deal with a W-9.
This happened to me two years ago- they will not mail you anymore checks until you send your W-9 in- once they get it your account goes back to normal.
This year keep track of what you make from them- at end of year if your going to go over 600 bucks- wait till JAN 1 to cash out the last remaining money your owed for that year so you dont have to deal with sending them a W-9.
Anything under $600 bucks you will never have to send ANY company a W-9 for that year- so keep track of what you earn for each company.

I've gotten paid for the cancer-related insurance Invoke from November 11... BUT, we were supposed to get an extra $5 (I screen capped that, thank goodness), and I only got $30, not $35. For those who got paid for this Invoke; did you get $30 or $35? If the former... we need to start emailing them.

It took a couple of emails, but they DID pay me the additional $5... has anyone else gotten it? If not, let 'em know, so we ALL get paid what we were promised!!

Thanks Jada! Was waiting for me as well. :woot: But....the darndest thing when I went to open the survey I get a pop up from MS asking: "Do you want to allow this web page to access your clip board?" Heck - I don't know - what's the right answer? I clicked don't allow and continued on then the next screen it pops up again and I 'allowed'. And......every subsequent page I got the same pop up?! What's up with that?

I didn't clear cookies immediately prior to doing the survey (and usually don't) but this has never happened to me. :scratchh:

I signed up on 8/4/08 and got my quarterly $5 on 12/19. They will send you weekly IWG to play and to earn 'passports'. Once you reach nine (three per play) you are entered into some drawing. Since I trust Nielson above and beyond some of those phonies out there, I'd say go for it!

Edit: I just read the "if you qualify and complete the process....." that would be $5 from Nielson after three months? Or does SS send you the five bucks? Hmmmm.......

Well after deciding not to have it installed, and the possibility of not getting paid, I uninstalled. Well I uninstalled it went to a webpage asking why I left, and I said it was because it didn't provide enough incentive, I was just emailed a little bit ago a new offer! The new offer was for $10.00 and not $5, I'm not sure if it will work for everyone or how much they will go up to if your repeat the process. Also it says the $10.00 will be mailed out "after 45 days after the date in which qualified members last reinstalled the panel software." So at this point I think I will install and stay with it, if anyone else does this and opts-out again and they send you more money let us all know!!!

This goes to show how valuable our opinions and actions are! Insist on more money to the survey companies and maybe we will begin to see the money incentives return to higher payouts!

I never got paid for the bodywashes, nor did I receive the follow-up questionaire for the doctors survey either. They used to be so on point, and Iwould be able to cash out with a decent amount. And best of all I would receive my check in less than 2 weeks time. It's a shame that they aren't on top of their game anymore.

Once you complete a survey that pays cash, you would have to wait an X amount of weeks, and then you go to "Review your unclaimed rewards"?

Once you complete it, there is no log/record of it until the X number of weeks, right?

Part of the SS business model is to not give you a record of the surveys you've taken in the hopes that you don't keep track and thus they don't always have to pay up; there's no record in your account except for paid surveys, and only then when they pay you.

They can take up to 8 weeks to pay. If you haven't been credited by then (it happens to me about 10% of the time), you'll have to follow up with them about the missing payments, or they'll never pay you... expect to have to email them at least twice per missing payment, so keep track of when you emailed so you can follow up on THAT.

You should keep a record of EVERY paid survey you do, ideally including screen caps to prove which ones you've taken; don't blindly trust SS or ANY survey site to pay what they owe.

I don't do screenshots either, but I do keep the emails in a seperate folder of one's that I have taken for pay. I also keep a notebook on my desk, write down the survey #, date I took it and the amount ..once it credits my account I mark them off.

Get a free PDF creator (e.x. cutepdf printer), print any surveys you are going to try and print the confirmation pages if/when you complete them.

If you do a lot of SS surveys, it's worth the time

Surveyspot folder
May 08, June 08, July 08, etc.

In each
SurveySpot 5-1-08 Electronics 5 dollars presurvey.pdf
SurveySpot 5-1-08 Electronics 5 dollars postsurvey.pdf

And at the end of each month, see if you have been paid for all surveys that are two months or older.

EDIT: Oh, and for surveys you get by email, star them if you try them and then label them (Gmail). Label it "unpaid" when you finish, and "Paid" when SS has it online". Every few weeks you can check.

Copying and pasting isn't proof that you completed a survey; a screen cap of the final screen showing the $ you're owed IS proof... and believe me, there are times where you'll NEED proof to get them to pay you, because they'll swear that you never took the survey, or that no $ was promised.

Thanks and reps to everyone who helped. (I hope I didn't forget anybody).

I completed a handful of surveys (~$20 worth). I hope there aren't any problems with them.

Edit: Is there any difference between the final screen showing the amount owed except for the amount of dollars?
Example: I complete 2 $3 surveys. I noticed that the screenshot for both is the same.

It's timestamped and the completion url on the page is different for each (If you use a PDF printer).

Okay, maybe a dumb question; but is there a way to take the quiz without ever getting it in an email or on the site? I'm guessing it has something to do with the reference number everyone posts with the survey.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.

What I believe you are referring to is the survey and not necessarily a quiz. They are only available through email invites to "you" (your registered email address) or log in directly to their site.

If I'm wrong, somebody please correct me.

The reference number posted is to 'alert' others if a survey is worth doing or not. For example, I remember doing one for only an entry into a sweepstakes and turned out to be a $10 incentive at the end. If you ever come across that situation, save a screen shot with the URL and save it! You may need proof down the road if no credit is awarded.

Perhaps I may be a bit overly anal but when I think a survey could be a product test or really anything for that matter, I copy the page of the survey intro and paste it into a 'composing' email. Leave that sucker in the background and if something comes out of it I'll then paste the reward into that email and send it to myself.

Otherwise, scratch or spin and cancel the original email of that survey that turned out to be an entry.

How do you guys know if a survey is PT or not?

Usually once you have done a few you generally can tell if they want you to try it or not, sometime they might tell you also. But overall answer truthfully and usually you will get in if they are want to have a PT.

Actuall just got this one, perfect example, but I Dq'd.... :(

YEP that's right is a PT

I got the userzoom and never got my 5.

It's usually SurveySpot making a mistake filling in the template. Email them about it referencing the survey # if you want to be sure. That's happened to me 3 times (got no message about payment at the end of a paid survey). Twice, I emailed them about it, they say "you'll get it in 4-6 weeks", I got it. Once, I forgot to email them about it, I got it in 6 weeks anyways.
