Good luck, I hope they give it to you. I just turned mine down as well. I wonder how they went about selecting who they were going to offer it to in the first place?

That's a good question. I am going to have another look at my profile. I am wondering if they think I am too old? I'm not yet 35, but it could be they are targeting younger women.

If I had to guess, I would think they would want to target young women over 30. I hope you get a reply back from them Finzz as they seem to be quite responsive. Please keep us all posted if you do hear something back from them.

You guys are all better than a therapist!! Seriously. I am floored by all of the nice responses in this thread and the wonderful PM's I have recieved. Thank you guys so much for thinking of me!! Even if I don't get the kit, it's a hug comfort to know there are caring folks like my fellow Sders in the world  It makes some of the pain easier to bear when you know you have friends. Sorry to sound so sappy

I wanted to say thank you to all of the people who encouraged finzz2dlft to send an email to shespeaks.com. I say this because it helped me as well. I got the courage to send an email tonight also. I'll let you know what they say.
I was bummed because I hadn't received an invite for the Conception Kit product test either. DH and I have been trying for a little over 3 years and after 3 miscarriages and a chemical I want a little extra help. We've seen specialists and they say there's nothing wrong, so where's my baby! is what I want to scream I would love to try the kit without having to pay 300.00 that we can't afford to spend right now. I have two gorgoeus stepsons, whom I love with all my heart, but I want children of my own. I hope that doesn't sound too selfish or wrong.
finzz2dlft - You are in my prayers.

I completely understand what you're saying! After we lost our 1st & started down the LONG, very expensive road (not covered by insurance) road of fertility treatments, people would say things like "Why don't you just adopt? There are so many babies out there that need good homes?" And then after our 1st IVF was successful & we had our daughter, and our 2nd IVF was technically successful but I had a chemical/miscarriage, we heard all of that AGAIN, and "Oh well, be thankful for the one you have."
GRR! As if I'm not thankful for the one I have-how stupid! And as far as adoption goes, we considered it-but it's as expensive as fertility treatments & these days you're not guaranteed to get to keep that baby either (I couldn't bear the thought of raising a baby for months/years & then having some relative surface & claiming familial rights), so why shouldn't I want to at least *try* to have biological children?
OK, stepping off my :soapbox:

Check it out!! I didn't see this posted already...I've already tried and tested!
if you go to your log in page and click on the product enrollment survey link ( if you have a product test already offered to you) then you can copy and paste the web address (even if it says "sorry you've already taken this survey") and pass it along to other people so they can enroll in that study too! They just have to be a member first and already logged in.
Here is the Sonicare Enrollment Survey link...

Please post other products for the rest of us that haven't gotten the email offers.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am new to SheSpeaks, so I don't know how it works,
But, if you weren't invited, and join via one of the links someone posts, can't you get kicked out of SheSpeaks? Seems like it would be against TOS or something ..
Plus, if they have 1000 slots, and 4000 people fill out the info through posted links, they surely won't have enough for everyone...
Or, am I missing something? Are the links being posted mean you're entering in to the pool to be chosen from? I am lost, lol.
Sorry, I don't mean to sound preachy or snotty, I am just really confused as to how this would work and the ramificiations .. still learning the ropes of SheSpeaks

you would still need to be invited. I guess maybe some people don't get the emails saying that there's a new survey, so an easy way to check would be to log in and put the linky in and see if you are in or not. Like skylifting posted, it said that they did not have access to that item.

I just messaged them. I've been a member since the panel started, and the only surveys I've been invited to are the AOL and the one for the TV show. It's very frustrating. I don't know why my demographic isn't chosen...and I'm frustrated by it. So I sent them a message. We'll see if that changes anything...

So I got my conception kit Tuesday. I was a little late so out of curiousity, I used one of the tests out of it and it was positive! After two more store bought tests, it appears I'm pregnant :) lol. I'm going to see if my cousin can use the kit, she's been trying for ages, but if not, maybe I can give it to one of you....
PM me if you're interested.

I just emailed SheSpeaks too. I feel burned that I never have gotten into anything... SoniCare, SexySmile, lipstick, conception kit, nothing. And then when I did do something, like that AOL review last summer, I didn't even get the reward (I think it was 6 issues of Entertainment Weekly I was supposed to get). I don't get it. I'm social, in clubs, playgroups, married with a kiddo. Some demographic has to hit me! lol. Hope I get a response. I'd really like to know why I'm never invited for anything.

:iagree: I wanted this test so, so bad. DH and I have struggled with secondary infertility and had 5 miscarriages. We have been to several RE's and had every test in the book. Nothing has come of any of it :(
hi, don't mean to butt in hre like this.. but have you ever been tested for clotting disorders? Factor H, AntiLupusCoagulant, elevated plasminigin, MTHFR Gene Mutation, etc?
The kit being offered basically shows you when is the best time to do your magic since it'll show you your most fertile period. You obviously don't have trouble GETTING pregnant... but rather, holding on to the pregnancy.
I'm struggling with primary infertility as of now, I cannot get pregnant. However, after much online research, i asked my dr. to look into clotting issues, and voila, i have a few. Luckily, there are stuff to help (baby aspirin and daily lovenox injections.. lovenox is an anticoagulant).
There are lots of people that get pregnant (or not) - but when pregnant, tiny tiny tiny clots form right on the placenta and basically starve the baby.. which results in a miscarriage. My hematologist told me it can happen from minute 1. But most hematologists say it happens later on. and that is the cause of most undiagnosed late term miscarriages.
I hope you don't mind me jumping in with this information.. i just hate to see someone suffering.. if there may be a possible solution.
My hematologist saw a woman with 13 miscariiages, and she just had a healthy "lovenox baby" as he call all babies born when the mother is on lovenox. a miracle drug.
another cause for miscarriages can be genetic.. and it can be resolved by doing IVF.. with preimplantation diagnosis.. where they test the cells of the embryo prior to transferring into you.. so you coan test it for a battaery of chromosomal and genetic defects first.
Lots of luck!!! :hugs:

Hi and thanks for your post! Of course you aren't "butting in"; you have provided some valuable info!
Yes ,I *have* been tested for clotting disorders, and just about everything else you can think of, and everything has come back as "normal." :( Which sucks because that means I have no answers! If something had come back as negative, I could at least say, "Hey, there's my problem, now we can fix it!"
As it is, I have just been given the diagnosis of secondary infertility which is *not* helpful! After my last miscarriage (which will be two years ago this coming August) I also lost my right fallopian tube, and have not been able to concieve since. Also, my periods have been all out of whack since then, and I never know when I am ovulating. That's why I was so hoping to get this kit, to help me try and figure things out and get back on track. I assume that I still ovulate, but I am approaching 35, have only one fallopian tube, have tons of scar tissue and a history of miscarriage so the future looks mighty grim..........

What state are you in? Have you been to a REALLY good hematologist? Have they ever tested the stuff from your last miscarriage? Also, were they late in the pregnancy or in the first trimester? First t rimester would be chromosome abnormalities.. My hematologist is a "crazy man" - he said it not I. But he has people coming to him from all over the WORLD. I feel like i'm in good hands. While I did not get pregnant on my last IVF I'm hoping to be successful this time around... and he put me on the Lovenox bc he said - again, his words, "It can't hurt". There's not much danger from it unless a person is in an accident and can bleed to death. So in case there's an underlying clotting factor (he did find small stuff) then it can only help...
I cant' belive they have no answers for you. Did YOU see the blood tests to knwo he ordered the right stuff? It must be SOOO hard for you :( :hugs:

I'm in Virginia. My RE is Dr. Rosenberg; here is his website http://eggdoc.com/ All of my miscarriages were very early on....I lost all of them before the 12th week. He tried "baby aspirin therapy" but was reluctant to put me on Clomid or anything else because, like you noted, I seemed to get PG easily enough, but I can't sustain them. My husband has been tested as well, and all of his results were also "normal."
Yes, I did see my test results. I am sure he ordered the right tests. My main concern right now is that perhaps he has given up on me, and that may be why he hasn't ordered anything else to be done...like I am a lost cause. I want to see a new Doctor, but they seem to be fairly slim pickings in my area.
Good luck to you!! I wish you lots of luck and a beautiful baby in your future! Please feel free to PM me anytime about baby related stuff  I know the journey can be hard!!

the lovenox is like the grown up baby asprin. u take both. baby asprin thins slightly, lovenox doesn't allow clotting. 2 different stuff. the cool thing is that if you ever go the ivf route they can select the embryoes that look the coolest, with no chromasome abnormalities, and no dna fragmentation..etc. only the best of the best.. and they'll transfer those.
Good luck with whatever you do :0

Just to throw one more wacky ovulation/period-out-of-whack thing out there for you gals to suggest to your docs: Have them do a Clomid Challenge test to check for premature ovarian failure. I just turned 32 in November & we actually discovered well over a year ago with this simple test that I'm in premenopause and most likely have been for at least 3-5 years...which means I could be in actual menopause within the next 5 years or so. It's important to check levels on both days 3 *and* 10 to get an accurate test--my RE refused to possibly believe that someone "so young" could need to be tested for that & only did the day 3 test, so I kept having problems/symptoms for another 2-3 years, until I asked my OB/GYN if she would PLEASE do the test. And even she said "I'll be really surprised if it comes back abnormal on someone your age, but of course we'll do it." So when she called me back with the result, she apologized & said "but Holy Crap, like you really needed this..."

obgyn's are not so knowledgable in repreductive endocrinology.. as RE's ;) They just deliver babies.
My Reproductive Endocrinologist orders day 3 bloods.. and since my fsh levels were low.. really nice and low.. he uses hat as an indicator of ovarion reserve. If it would be high he'd do the clomid challenge. and even though they know it (my ovarian reserve) they STILL do day 3's as long as i'm under his care. i've been day 3'ing for months. Its standard for them.

My OB/GYN also specializes in infertility-the only reason she referred us to an RE is because she thought we'd get better care & probably need IVF-which she doesn't do. Had my RE simply listened to my symptoms & history rather than the fact that I was "only in my late 20's", we wouldn't have bothered with the 6 IUI's we did & would've used completely different meds for our 2 IVF's. As it turns out, the combo of me starting my cycles early, my mom going through menopause early (not this early tho!) and me being an epileptic can bring on an earlier menopause.
The CCCT is more accurate than just a day 3 test because it's possible to have an elevated day 10 without elevated day 3, or have a day 10 that is higher than your day 3 (it should be lower) or in the case of my 2nd CCCT, have absolutely no change from my day 3 to my day 10-which indicated I'm still in premenopause, but it wasn't any further progressed than the last test. (Obviously, since I got pregnant that month! I'm really curious to see what's going to happen with my system after i have the baby...as much trouble as I've had, let 'em take everything out!)

Wait a sec... see, I lost my left tube a couple of years ago and my OBGYN said that when one ovary can't release an egg, the other takes over for it and releases every month instead of every other... But as I said, I just got pregnant but I know it's early, but I know there's hope with only one tube :)

Wow, how sad is it that there are enough of us w/problems or difficulties that we could open up our own little SD fertility forum?! :shake:
After my ectopic ( tubal) preg when I lost my right tube, I researched the heck out of this, since my right ovary has always been my dominant ovary (the side I ovulate from more often...people think you ovulate from one side one month & one side the other, but you don't-you can ovulate from the same side 6 months in a row!) Your remaining tube very often will pick up the egg from the other ovary, or the other ovary may start to pick up the pace & even things out or become the dominant ovary. There are some people from my ectopic preg support group that have an ovary on one side & tube on the other side and have still gotten preg naturally-it's just amazing what our bodies can do when they really want to.

I never did day 10's. hmmm. I had 3 day FSH's in the 5-7's though. I did day 3's, although when I did IVF I did day everythings ;) I had blood drawn like every day or other day for a bit to check levels on everything with the medications and stuff. Should I insist on a day 10 or does it not matter at this point? I also had plenty of 'antral follicles' and plenty of embryo's when we did the ivf. sadly it didn 't work and i'm startying a new one in 19 days.

LOL at the fertility forum. When I mentioned in a different forum that I will be doing IVF.. I got a TON of pm's from people with h opeful message, people that did it and were successful, etc. I was amazed :)
In a book about infertility I read about how the average infertile coupole WILL get pregnant within 10 years. Obviously nobod wants to wait that long..etc. but when you hear of these couples that did "everything" and gave up.. and then got pregnat.. that's what it is :) A friend of mine was told her tubes were so blocked.. she needs ivf. She was told to come in for day 3's.. but that period never came. She was pregnant. I like hearing these stories and I DON'T like hearing these stories. But the point that we should all remember is.. babies come from god. Not dr.'s. We do our part by going to a dr. for assistance, but he doesn't actually give you the baby.. or he'd guarantee it ;)

I wouldn't insist on the day 10's unless you actually have reason to believe you have premature ovarian failure/premenopause. It sounds like your RE is on the ball with all the other tests.
I know what you mean about hearing all the stories of people getting preg after giving up-but I guess technically I am sort of one of those stories now. We went through all of those treatments & money, and got our daughter from IVF #1. We were going to do one last IUI w/Clomid in Sept, but didn't have much faith it would work since I'd done 6 in previous years-3 on the injectibles, and go figure, we get pg in Aug w/Clomid & the Conception Kit!

I also meant to tell you that I'm sorry it didn't work for you-that really is heartbreaking. In our 1st IVF, we only got 8 eggs, only 7 fertilized, then only 6 made it-but they all fragmented, so none of them could be frozen...we were devastated because we thought we'd get to try again w/ a frozen cycle if it didn't work, or if it did & we wanted another child later. So, we put back the "best" 3 (the most my RE will put in) which were all grade 2 on a 1-4 scale & I just cried because I thought that it surely wouldn't work...and yet, my daughter just turned 3 on Sunday.
With our 2nd IVF, we got 15 eggs so I was really excited, but only 7 fertilized, and only 4 made it-and again they all fragmented & were the same quality as before. This time my RE put all 4 back, saying that the chances of more than 2 of them implanting was very minimal (he knew this was our last try.) One did, but I miscarried before the 1st ultrasound.
Good luck on your next cycle-I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers. And remember, obviously it only takes 1 strong-willed little embie, no matter how bleak the odds seem...and my particular 1 has been one of the healthiest/smartest kids I've ever seen for her age.

I had 11 eggs from my first.. i didnt take high doses of the gonatropins bc he wanted quality not quantity.. i haven't hit 30 yet. So 8 were mature, 7 fertilized with icsi, 2 were beautiful "perfect" 8 celled embryos, they kept saying "wow". WEll guess what.. they didn't take. one of the slightly fragmented ones grew till day 6 and turned into a beautiful blast, AA grade, which was frozen. but hard to tell what'lll happen if they defrost it. This time we are doign to do day 5 transfers so we can hopefully 'select' the ones that made it to fully expanded blasts. They really don't know what's waht. 2 blasts... twins.. triplets.. :) I'm ready.

My heart goes out to all of you. I too had problems with multiple miscarriages. I could get pregnant easily enough, I just couldn't carry past the first trimester. Any test we undertook came back with no reasons as to why the miscarriages. My dr suggested that I try progesterone, said that it might help, so I did and ended up with perfect twins! Not sure if it was just my time or if it was the progesterone, but whichever, they just turned 6 last week. Good luck everyone my thoughts are with you.

I also had several early miscarraiges, and almost lost my daughter early on. When I got pg with my son I had a different OB who thought to check my progesterone, which was extremely low....and put me on supplements. I had been having a lot of spotting which ended after starting progesterone. Good luck and baby dust to all of you ladies who want it.

Do we need to log into the site all the time or do we just need to wait for emails, what is best?
That is a really good question. I have found with my own experience that if I log in I never seem to have any of the campaigns available to me but if I get the email from them which at that point it is a big surprise since I never would have expected to hear from them is the only time I seem to know that I have been chosen for something. Other people may find checking the site from time to time helpful so it depends on the individual. Good luck to you! I honestly was about going to give up on them until I was offered the OPI test and then when I contacted them about the Sexy Smile PT they assigned that one to me as well.

I wish I could find the color of OPI nail polish I used to wear in highschool. It was a pale shimmery lavender. I can't remember the name of it and it wasn't on their website. Could somebody who has the conception kit please help me? I've misplaced the manual for the ovulation predictors, and I don't know what the stick will read when it's positive. Is it more than one band, will the one band become a different color? TIA

If to show up it can mean you are ovulateing or if the test line is very light it can mean you are not ovulateing. Someone asked about it on the shespeaks.com boards. If you can't find what your looking for on there or if this didn't answer what you wanted pm me and I will dig you my manuels and look it all up for you.

I didn't get in on this program, but from what I remember when the test line is the same as or darker than the control line you will be ovulating within the next 24-48 hours. If it is lighter you are not ovulating in the next couple of days.

Dear Sarah,
A few places have opened up in this test and we are delighted to be able to invite you to participate.
We have been asked to test something very special. For so many women, conception is not as easy as "snapping your fingers" to get pregnant. Many of us struggle for years to conceive.
ConceptionkitlogosmThat is why we are pleased to offer SheSpeaks members the opportunity to receive and test the Conception Kit from Conceivex Inc. The Conception Kit, a FDA-Cleared product, is a revolutionary non-invasive product ($300 value) that can enhance a couple's chance of conceiving.
If you or someone you know is currently trying to conceive, this test will be of interest. Instructions below will indicate how you can sign up. it works and hope some more of u get this that wanted it so bad

I never got the OPI lipstick either and I emailed them and they told me the same thing, our records show that it was sent and to check with my neighbors so I replied I had checked and no one had it and they said they would send another one.
This happened to me with the Jonathan Hair Product. I mailed them and told them it never came, and they did send another product. It took a while though, but it did come.

That's an odd thing to tell someone (to check with neighbors), especially since it's obvious there is a pattern of people not getting their lipstick. That's not very good customer service :shake: but at least they are sending them out again.

I got the Nic's Sticks invite, too. I'm stoked, because the SHH! Toilet Splash wasn't very fun.

The only thing I've ever received is that tooth whitening/gloss (and an invite to the conception thing) things and that was only because I had replied to them about the conception kit thanking them for the opportunity but telling them I was no trying to get pregnant at the time but would be willing to do anything in the future. They responded right away and said, well we do have this lip gloss thing if you want to do it. Other than that I've hear little to nothing from them as well.

Since it's a variety of ages, I'm guessing that maybe it's based on location. (Larger cities or possibly just spreading it around the country).
I don't know; just pure speculation.
I hope I get the color I picked. I'll use any color, but the one I picked is the one I use most often. :woot:

I live in podunkville, nowhereland. So maybe just randomly spread around, or maybe based on some other demographic. I asked for the 'text me' color.

Can I ask a general question? Are they diligent about emailing you new product tests? Can I go without loggin in at all?

I've only had a couple of surveys but I did find them on my homepage before I got an email from them. I always check logon to my homepage when someone posts that they got a new campaign just to check.
