Never tried Rogaine myself...
I use NIOXIN products and they're the best thing available below actually getting hair implants. Recommended by anyone who has tried it, myself included.

So your contribution here is?

Well I would assume his contribution is to anyone looking to regrow or keep hair. Which is probably the reason they visited this threard. I Second what you said about Nioxin being good stuff for hair. Seems to be helping me keep mine over the last few years when it appeared to be thinning a bit. I know about 4 years ago I tried Rogaine mostly for preventitive maintainence (keep what you have the commercial said). Anyway, I never lost so much hair so quickly as when I used that stuff. Made me panic. I discontinued use immediately, seemed to have gotten most of it back over time and nioxin use. Good luck to those Rogaine works for, for me that stuff was a near nightmare.

Gosh, sorry to hear that. You must have had some type of reaction to it. I don't sell the stuff, I just came across a link for $10 off for people who actually like the stuff. I don't have a hair loss problem myself, so I can't say how the stuff works but it has been around for quite some time so it must be working for someone out there.

That's cool. Now I feel bad, I didn't mean to threadcrap. This stuff probably works well for some people. It must, It's been on the market for awhile. I guess in my opinion, unless pretty much all your hair is gone, I would not risk it. Probably a good deal though if this is your thing.

lurewars,
no problem. Just wondering, what is the Nioxin product you have used? Is it shampoo? I am female with long hair and, even though I really am not losing my hair, I don't feel my hair is as thick as it once was. Wondering if it was a shampoo that you've used from Nioxin? I'm familiar with the brand.

And its not really appropriate. If you don't like a product, post a deal for the product you do like. I would assume

If you read the directions of Rogaine, increased hair loss in the beginning is normal.
