Blappy, did they say that they were supposed to pay sooner than that and it still took 4 months?
Wheresmycape, I just read that thread too. :( Hope we don't have the same problem, I'm really counting on that money.
Edit:
I just logged into the sight and the last day of the study was May 23 and it definitely say within 45 days which would equate to getting them by the end of the first week of July, unless it's 45 business days.
Did anyone win any of the contests? I won one. :) I don't think I'll get the full amount though because my camera issues got worse and worse and I was short a few videos but they did say they wouldn't penalize for camera trouble it so I guess I will see.

I received an email telling me how much I would receive. It listed the amounts for filling out the profiles and buying the extra product along with the study incentive. It said we'd get paid in mid-July.

Both companies are terrible, both Realsight and Bullseye. My check ( like others here who posted today) from Bullseye, bounced.! ( $200) And all three studies that I did for the companies paid very late. About 2-3 weeks. And, both companies are awful at returning calls ( if ever). Just beware.

I bumped the original thread up a few days ago after receiving the compensation email. When they calculated mine they didn't include the $100 for returning the camera. I sent an email with the tracking information and asked for confirmation that it was received. I never heard anything so I started calling. Left a message af then received the email confirming they received it.

I got this on June 10th:
"Hi xxxxxx
Thank you for your participation in this study. You will receive $330 of total compensation: $200 for your base compensation, $100 for returning your camera, $25 for answering the concept questions, and $5 for purchasing pudding and/or a Jell-O No Bake Dessert Kit as an assignment.
Thanks again!

Well shoot, I'm worried now because I didn't receive an email like that.
I'm going to email them.
Should I email through the pm email deal on the study site or email them from my regular email? Reps to any and all that can point me in the right direction on who I should get in touch with and what email address to use to find out why I didn't get my compensation amounts email.
Thanks.

I think that your company should be ashamed of itself. People really relied on receiving their due compensation in a timely manner. It is absolutely ridiculous that we have had to wait so long, we should be given more than promised at this point. I myself was looking forward to my money so that I could pay for my childrens school registration as well as the supplies that thay will be needing. Your lack of professionalism is unbelievably irresponsible and disappointing. I hope that we are not waiting because your company hasn't been paid itself from the "JELLO ACCOUNT". The fact of the matter is that the the only conceivable reason that I can phathom on why it is we haven't been paid. The fact of the matter is however, that is not our problem. I hope that your employees aren't treated with the same disregard and disrespect that we have been shown. I also hope that peolpe weren't looking forward to their money to put food on the table or to turn their gas or water back on but if that is case thats something that you'll have to live with. Very sincerely, Esther Sierra

I was told the client has not paid them so whomever participated will not be paid until they get paid. Joselyn is the girl I spoke with and she said they are a very small company and don't have the funds to distribute right now
I don't have a good feeling about the money that is due to me, I might never see it

I'm not sure if I buy the whole story they are giving us. Most of the companies that they deal with are reputable. Heck, I've complained about their products that I have bought and received compensation much faster than this. I don't think the problem is that the clients aren't paying in time---my theory is that Realsight is probably behind on a lot of their debts, and may be using money earned from current projects to pay for past incentives and bills. I might find it plausible that one or two companies may have been a bit delinquent in paying, but this is happening on a regular basis. The bounced checks were a telltale sign that the business is having problems. LOL, if you're doing a Realsight study now, hurry up so that we can get paid! (I know it's not really a laughing matter, just trying to bring a little levity here) I do think that we will be paid---eventually.

I was not involved in this particular nightmare and feel bad for you all. Regardless, are their checks drawn on a local branch in your vicinity? If so, take that sucker directly to their bank and cash it. Do not put them in your accounts if at all possible. :shake:

I haven't gotten any email from them yet. Did you get an email directly to your inbox or on the realsight board? I am so sick and tired of worrying and wondering when my check will come. I don't care how much they pay, I will seriously never do another study with them and if my check doesn't get here according to their latest "promise to pay" I'm reporting them to the BBB. They have the BBB symbol on the sign in page of their board and I sure as heck don't get how they haven't had more problems with people reporting with never paying on time and bouncing checks left and right.

I have been fighting with them since their email about the second time around saying that we would have it in 2 weeks. I called Aaron, who came to my house and interviewed myself and my son for 3 hours, and he said he no longer works for Realsight (now there's a surprise) but he made some calls for me (Nice Guy) and I received a call the next day from a Chris at Realsight who said she was an office manager and she promised me up and down that they are legit and the money will be out to us as soon as Kraft sends it to them. She assured me that it was Kraft that hadn't paid yet but I don't believe that at all. Anyway. I thanked her for calling and told her I would go to the BBB and to Kraft Corporation if I didn't see the money within the 2 weeks they promised the second time around. By the way if you call the Realsight number no one answers and this morning it said that it was blocked. What ever that means. If none of us get paid for this study and others from what I'm reading on the blog, we can file a class action suit against the company and that would pretty much wash them up. Also, we can only hope the checks don't bounce. Good luck everyone!

ive been reading this thread (did not do the study personally) and all I can say is WOW! What total disregard for their customers and clients, you know if they are treating you all this way then I am sure they treat other people the same way (and you wonder IF it is true they have not been paid, why lol with the way they handle themselves)...
I hope you all get your checks and that they indeed are good and not fake/scams/ or bouncing ....all checks from survey companies (especially ones like these) should be taken to the bank that they were issued from (its worth the drive even if one is not that close) to ensure you are not hit with the fees if and when it bounces...they can tell you right then at the bank it was issued at if it IS good or not.
best advice is keep calling and emailing until you have payments and yes I would also add your 2 cents on the facebook page and tell them that you will spread their information and lack of consideration for others and un-timely payment of survey money all over the internet in different forums you visit so others know the hassle and headache they are to deal with.
Sorry 2 all of you this happened and hope for the best!

That's a pretty lame excuse. :vomit: Without reading this entire thread, how long has this been dragging on? Any legit business would NOT put the blame on someone else - pay up! Don't organize studies as such without first knowing how you're going to pay the participants that contributed!

So, if I take their check to their bank, let's say it's Bank of America. They cash it, take my thumbprint and drivers license #. The check bounces. Now I'm on some FBI list? How does that work? Never cashed a check at someone's bank. I usually just deposit them.

if you take it to their bank they will look into the PC and check that account before issuing you the money, not sure about thumb prints maybe they would...but if you go to THEIR specific bank they will NOT give you the money unless it is in the account to begin with unlike if you took it to your bank or a check cashing place (they would not be able to verify the account and money in it) but the bank that the check is from usually verifies the money is there in the account before sending you on your way with the cash so no you will not end up on an FBI list or anything ...if they dont check the account and it DID bounce lets say, then the company that wrote it will be getting the calls/letters/and fees

Ok, well they told me my check was going out on Tuesday 8-11 and now they are telling you yours is going out on the 13th??? Why didn't all the checks go out on the same day if they got the money from the Client?? Wouldn't they get everybody's check out right away> Why the 2 day difference. Still sounds inaccurate!!

I was just thinking the same thing. Why wouldn't they send all the checks out at once? Is she just trying to keep us from bugging her for a few more days? I will continue to email Jen if I don't see my check in the next few days. She told me that it was mailed yesterday.
She is blaming it on not being paid by the client. If that is even true, it should be Realsight's problem and not ours. Most companies have a cash reserve to pay their bills. Even though I was expecting the money from the study, I still had to pay my bills when the money did not come to me on time. Realsight should do the same thing - it's common business sense.

This is what they sent me:
Loic L sent you a message on Realsight:
Subject: Compensation
"Dear Community Members,
We believe that you deserve prompt payment for your participation in our
study and we want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to make
sure checks are mailed out in a timely fashion and no later than 45 business
days after the study's end date. Although we are trying very hard to get
them out sooner, checks will be mailed no later than the week of July 27.
Again, if we are able to mail them before that date we will. We appreciate your
understanding and patience! Please send us an email at
community@realsight.net if you have any questions.
I have sent them emails on when I am going to get paid and they never answer them.
This is the last email I got from them on the 31st of July:
Lorraine D sent you a message on Realsight:
Subject: your check
"We have been doing everything we can to try and get your compensation checks out to you this week however we have had to delay them. They will be going out in the next couple of weeks and as soon as they are in the mail you will receive a message.
Again we sincerely apologize for this delay and appreciate your patience.

I haven't gotten mine yet, and I'm in NYC. The delays have been unacceptable, especially since we had to go into our own pockets and purchase the item that they wanted us to test. I usually don't make a fuss when companies take their time to pay, but this one actually cost ME money, not just time--which, taken figuratively, is money too. Did anyone complain directly to Kraft? I mean, since she says it was "their" fault that we didn't get paid. I have always gotten good responses from Kraft when I have a problem, and maybe they can help.

No I didn't complain to Kraft.....just wondering if they are just placing the blame on Kraft and Realsight just don't want to pay out?

That may be a possibility. Other people have had trouble getting their payments on time, and what was the reason that somebody's check bounced? Surely not ALL of these problems were caused by the companies that hired Realsight.

Hey thats great news! I was giving up hope with all of the false promises and stories of bouncing checks. Where are you located? Im guessing the checks shipped from CT (where their offices are)?
I'm located in Illinois! Good luck!

Thanks, babyjane. Now I'm concerned. NY is closer to CT than IL, so if they indeed did mail everyone's at the same time, it's only logical that it should have reached here by now. What are these people DOING? If my check isn't here today, I am writing Kraft to let them know that I don't appreciate being screwed around by either them, the company THEY hired, or both----whichever!

I have a feeling they did not send them all at once because a friend of mine that kept writing and calling these past couple weeks got hers too and she is in Texas! It would have reached me in Missouri first. I have not sent any extra emails nor made any calls. Maybe they have issued those people's checks first....

Their bank is CITIbank NA
That sucks. There's no Citibank within 100 miles of my home.
Guess I'll just deposit it in my bank and wait to see if it clears. Why the heck not? I've waited this long.

i am not sure if this would work but maybe call the "closest" citi bank (one somewhere in your state) since there isnt one within 100 miles...tell them your situation and maybe have the check in your hand with the account number routing number and check number and see if they will tell you whether or not it will be good if you depo it into your account...I dont know if you can get that info over the phone but explain the situation about them paying late and having issues with the bouncing checks before from their partner company...maybe they can at least tell you how to go about trying to avoid having something bounce on you..
some check cashing places (not near me but in nothern ohio) will call the bank to verify the check is good before they will cash it for you...IDK you might want to call around to some of those and see how they go about verifiying the checks..?

I guess the squeaky wheel really does get the oil. Kraft hired this company to do their research, so they share some responsibility for this mess, especially if they're at fault like Realsight is claiming. If they're not, then they need to know what is going on and what's being said. I guess Planet Feedback will be the first stop in my letter writing campaign.

With that thought maybe we should also be calling Avon as well since they clearly have a big account with them (as posted on Facebook)...
I'm so disgusted that nobody has bothered to even respond to my emails at Realsight. As I told them Im not going to just walk away from this. I worked my butt off on this project!

I just checked and my closest one is 100 miles too but we do have atms for citibanks customers. Lot of good that will do me though. I'm actually feeling the same way about waiting for it to clear, it will only take an extra few days and I've waited so long I'll just be happy to have the damn thing get here. LOL

Well, I finally received a check, but it is $125 less than what they told me my compensation would be. I was supposed to get a total of $355, and my check was for $230! SO FRUSTRATING!!!
So I just emailed Jen again and told her that I expected the rest to be mailed ASAP. I will continue to email her every day until I receive the rest of my compensation. Really, what kind of business is this!
Has anyone else had this problem?

Sorry that happened to you---I didn't get my check today, so I emailed them and told them that I was contacting Kraft's PR dept to let them know how upset I am that not only did I not get paid on the several occasions they gave, as promised, but also that I had to spend my own money in furtherance of their project that was to be refunded. If I don't hear from them in a timely fashion, I'm contacting my local news station. Maybe "Help me Howard" can get something done. They really don't want a PR nightmare where they are being accused of stiffing the poor consumers in this economy.

Did you sell your camera back to them or something? I did everything asked but am owed closer to what you received (vs what you were owed). Just curious why they owe you so much... FYI here is the BBB for CT Realsite profile... Oddly doesnt look like too many people are complaining...

Yes I sold my camera back to them. They told me my compensation would be as follows:
"You will receive $355 of total compensation: $200 for your base compensation, $100 for your camera, $25 for answering the concept questions, and $5 for purchasing pudding and/or a Jell-O No Bake Dessert Kit as an assignment."
Funny - I just reread that and it only adds up to $330, not $355 like they said. So it looks like they were having a hard time adding it all up from the get-go. So I am still missing $100. I'm guessing they didn't factor in my camera.

Got my check in the mail right now. It was the amount I was told my compensation would be. They really do need to get their act together, I didn't even find out until people posted on here that we were supposed to get an email telling us our compensation amount and I had to email them to find out. Guess it really is the squeaky wheel. I doubt I'd have gotten my check if I hadn't emailed the CEO. Now let's hope it doesn't bounce.

OMG - I would be just livid if I were in any of your shoes. For those of you that don't have a Citibank and have to deposit into your own account, are you conversing with your bank teller of the situation and see if they could possibly see if the check is good or not?
Good luck to all of you - this is absolutely insane and cannot believe Kraft Foods has any hanky panky business with this mess. That is NOT their style.

A page back someone posted the email of Jen Hansen, the CEO of Realsight, that is who I sent my email to and got a very quick reply. I didn't just ask about the status of the check though, I was fairly upset and tried to convey that in my message.
I have to deposit mine and I plan to ask the bank when the check should clear Citibank (I'll tell them the situation) and when it's safe to use the money.

Just wanted everyone to know that yesterday I went onto the BBB website and offically reported Realsight. The funny thing is that Realsight Research is a member of " The Better Business Bureau. I received my check from Realsight for the Jello pudding study in the correct amount on Saturday 8-15-09. I did return the camera. I went to the CitiBank in my town and cashed it for the full amount. I do not have an account at CitiBank. They checked right away and made sure the funds were there. I signed some form and they gave me my money and off I went. I hope everyone else has a Citibank in their town and get there right away! Who knows. They may run out of funds in the account if everything is so screwed up. Good luck to everyone!
