Just called Verizon enquiring about my internet speed/pricing and when my contract is up, as I'm not fond of their hardware.

The CSR advised me they have a promotion offering HBO and Cinemax free for 3 months. No obligation or no purchase necessary. He suggested (what I did last year) and mark my calender on Oct 13 to call Verizon and cancel the movie package. This deal also includes their HBO and Cinemax on demand channels.

This should keep the kids busy during the summer while they are out of school... now I just need to clear space off the DVR for a bunch of movies. :-\

just as a reminder... they can automatically start charging you for the movie channels if you don't cancel it before the 3 months. :dontknow: plus who really watches cinemax anymore?

Correct. That's why you need to mark your calendar and set yourself a reminder to call them to cancel it. Funny... My kids are watching Cinemax right now... Shrek the Third.

Thanks! I was able to sign up online. There was a note under the package (or HBO/Cinemax individually) stating it was free for 3 months. There were also a number of international channels with the same deal if anyone is interested in that.

Are these HBO/Cinemax movies in HD?

Do you know how long this promotion is running?

My billing was all screwed up when I did this offer at the time I renewed my contract last year. After 3 months, they added 3 international channels that I did not request. I had to call multiple times in order to get it straightened out. I will never do these free offers again. Such a hassle.

I would have complained about the time you wasted correcting their mistakes and demanded something for free... like premium movie channels, lol. or a rate adjustment.

I'm in this promotion right now. Verizon had a promotion a few months ago where you can get all the movie channels for one month free.

Uverse has 2 free months of HBO (http://uverse.att.com/freehbo). Just got a flyer in the mail yesterday. Signed up last night. Recording a bunch of movies and marked my calendar for cancelling.

Is this promotion still on? I just called Fios and they said that there are no movie package promotions currently being offered. Just wondering if I got a "bad mood" CSR.

Our 3 month free trial of all the premium movie channels just ended with FIOS- we got the standard and HD versions of Cinemax, HBO, Showtime, Starz... and all their variants. Nice for free and THEY canceled it for us...

Who watches Cinemax.. well, they don;t call it Skinomax for nothing... ;)
Seriously, between all those channels there is always a movie on to watch... I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3 several times to actually get to see the whole movie, but there's always something, and free is free...

Came across this the other day but I don't remember where I snagged it. Hopefully helps out some people who are looking into FIOS.

The deal break down is awesome for me because my employer pays for the "internet" portion of the bill. So I can get some crazy deals for even cheaper! :D

Hey guys - just to let you know this offer is still available. I just had it "added" to my account last Friday. The first thing I did after reaching home was to put a Google reminder to cancel 85 days from then. That was what the rep suggested I do. I love Fios. It's so much better than Comcast!

I actually called today and this offer is still alive (I got HBO/Skinimax). It is free for 90 days and then is $21.99 a month after and you can cancel anytime. They have a couple different options available for the free trials. HBO, HBO/CINEMAX, and a couple with showtime I think.
