There are no limitations to the amount of faxes received, you just get a piece of junk mail with the fax, and then about once or twice a month another hunk of junk mail. At least that is my experience. I have mine set up in a junk mail box called yourbogusmail@gmail.com and it works for me. I then forward it, (along with the other 500 email addresses I have) to my outlook address and it does all the spam sorting. As far as SENDING, I have only found one place that is fairly reliable and cheap for sending and that is fax1.com. I do not necessarily endorse it, it is just the one that I have found that is cheap and easy. Either that or I just use my real fax machine to send. I don't receive on it because of all the junk faxes that come and go. That and I want the voice mail to work, and I don't want to pay the extra for the line conditioning that vonage wants.

eFax has a free service which allows you to receive faxes (you have to pay to send) to a phone number and they will come to you in Email. The problem is that you do not get a local number if you choose the free version. If anyone is interested, we can start swapping numbers here.

Free eFax is RECEIVE only. Which means that someone has to fax it TO YOU. Therefore, getting a local eFax number is mostly a convenience to the sender. I have family that often will fax me things, and they do not have VOIP and they'd rather not spend the money on long distance.
