Hmmm... Are any of these telecommuting positions? Looks like the Blog Columnist one is the only role not mentioning moving to Vegas.

At this time for the positions other than Blog Columnist we're looking for them to be local. However, feel free to submit your application as we may have opportunities for tele-commuting developers to work on side projects.

Does Slickdeals have an office in Vegas? I have never seen SD post employment opportunities before. Are there any CS/MIS internship possibilities? Never seen SD expand like this before.

Do you mention what is the rate for Creative Web Developer?

08-25-2009, 12:38 AM
hmm....this may be interesting. I just lost my job in June and on my spare time I hunt for deals and bargain. Since then I've spent more time on slickdeals looking for freebies, mainly food because we all love food!

Anyhow, I noticed myself making more use of my unemployment time...to hunt for bargains, searching and researching for investment opportunities, and networking/blogging with friends via facebook. Afterall, we do what we can to save as much money, make as much money, and be happy with what we have today - our friends and family. With this said, I need a job! =P

Salaries / rates aren't specified. If you are interested, just send a cover letter stating desired salary (and whatever else it asks for), as outlined in the job posting. I'm sure they will send more info. to the qualified candidates later. Just be sure you can relocate to Las Vegas for the position.

LOL.

Well, apparently most of us online haven't yet in our current jobs... so maybe at Slickdeals, it would be considered "work related." ... except that we might be busting out our Credit Cards every once in a while.

Wish these jobs were online.. I feel I can help benefit this website by filling in the Business Development Manager position. Let me know if you guys would like to talk more, I have experience in the field and I've been on this website for a long time now, so i'm comfortable already with the set up and how things go around here. I've also contributed to the gamers section and helped boost more posts in that section.

hope you guys find the right people. good luck

Thanks...we did have a great few days of camping...only to come home Sunday evening to find that a very bad family situation took place while we were gone. I was still in shock a bit when I posted here a couple of hours later but I should have been more careful. Especially, when the opportunity to work for SlickDeals is an important thing for me.

That's a pretty contradictory response, but I won't bother getting into that... in any case, simplyDABulous is actually right:

Only if you get past our screening
Only if you pass our screening

Maybe you didn't read the word "get" since s/he didn't include it in the response.

Good luck to everyone applying... on SD and elsewhere! It's tough these days...

Not sure if you applied already, if not here is info. from SD:

Internship Opportunities
We love interns. We love being able to provide students and recent graduates with the opportunity to gain working experience in our company. We promise we don’t haze or bite! If you work in a related field such as information technology, information systems or marketing, feel free to send your resume and a cover letter outlining your goals to internship@spamfilterslickdeals.net

If you have already and some time has passed, you may wish to send a send a follow-up letter letting them know you are still interested and highlighting what you have to offer and outlining your goals. This is what you do with a typical job application so it can't hurt to do the same here. Good luck.

I'd love to move to vegas, but it's too hot. Even when it's cloudy it's hot. Even at night it's hot. I had to bob and weave out of the hotels just so I would die of radiation.

The problem with hiring a SD member, is obvious. They spend way too much time on SD to be a viable candidate. We can't have someone surfing for deals, freebies, and contests while they are supposed to be working :P

In other words, I'm over qualified--hire me!
