Well all I have to finish is Shining Force 2 and Phantasy Star 4 on the Sonic Collection, but I just bought 6 games for 75 bucks from a guy I work with. They are:
Oblivion: GOTY Edition
Fallout 3
Star Wars: Force Unleashed
Mass Effect
Eternal Sonata
Lost Odyssey
As you can tell I stripped him of all his RPG's, and the Star Wars game because it was 5 bucks. Now I usually like traditional RPG's, so I was leaning towards Lost Odyssey or Eternal Sonata first, but I've heard such amazing things about Fallout and Oblivion, that I wanted to get some opinions on what I should play. Thanks guys.

Eternal sonata requires a minimum of 2 play thrus to 1k, its not too long but the second time around its much harder as the enemies have more health and deal more damage.
There's tons of hidden items to find, as well as a hella hard dungeon at the end that's optional. All in all I spent about 60-70 hours getting the full 1k on it, but I loved it. The PS3 version also let you play as two new characters, but they were pretty medicore and I never used them that much.
Lost Odyssey is a phenomenal game as well, but it's shorter than ES if you skip the hella numerous cutscenes. But this requires a much more complex 1k, as finding the seeds is a pain as is finding the dream sequences.
I'd go with ES - LO - ME personally.

You probably should play fallout 3 last since it'll be the biggest time sink out of all those titles.

I vote Fallout 3 because that game seriously rocks. I platinum'd (equivalent of 1K) the game in something around 60 hours I think but if you don't go after everything it'll be much shorter.

Oblivion definitely.
One time I was watching my brother play it and he was some stealth character class. So this highwayman wanted him to pay a toll (near the beginning of the game). Of course my brother didn't pay it so the guy started attacking him, but as this certain character class my brother didn't have a chance in combat so he used some spell which allowed him to escape.
Maybe ten minutes later my brother is in some village, inside a shop, and all of a sudden that guy barges in and kills him.
You can't make this stuff up...
Gamer's lounge has had bountiful amounts of trolls lately.
BTW 1K means 1,000 gamer points or unlocking all achievements.

Ah thanks, I don't care too much about achievement points. Though I was pissed because I signed onto live for the first time in 4 months (no internet) and it went back to my level before I beat GTA4, Bioshock, RE5, and GoW1. I'm back down to like 375 points.

He's referring to maxing out your achievements on the game. 1k = max # of gps.
I think you should play Fallout 3 also. That game is serious business.

Did he make that up? I haven't played the game but my roommate is insane over it right now.
I have noticed other threads where this guy has posted some seriously unintelligent content.

Actually, in almost all RPG games getting the achievements reveals something about the story, gets you a new character, etc.

You're going to play them all eventually so maybe go with the one you feel like playing first? No one can tell you which game you want to play.
It's like listing 6 movies and asking which you should watch. Watch the one you want

That's the point though, he probably wants to play all of them, and wants to know which one is the most rewarding or most enjoyable to other people and why. It's a common enough question.
You've really never asked a friend to recommend a movie when you just can't think of a good one?

I suppose so. I usually do just end up going with what I feel like watching in the end though. I'm not really criticizing him for asking for input, just pointing out that he will play them all eventually so he might as well go with what he'd like to play the most. We're all going to have completely different opinions of what he should play first based on our own personal preferences.

Meh, just because I have a game doesn't mean I'll ever finish it. I've got tons of half played or unplayed games so I think its a perfectly legit question.
EDIT: Bareborn, in case you haven't noticed he's just a troll. Not a very entertaining one either :(

Hey thanks guys, I do plan on playing all of them, but it might be over a year or more time. I don't get to play that much, plus some of them seem to take a LONG time to beat. That and when NHL 10 comes out, most of my time will go to that, so I bought these cheap knowing I wouldn't touch half of them until 2010 at the earliest. I think I'm gonna wait on Fallout 3, maybe to get the DLC cheaper, so I think I'm gonna start with Eternal Sonata and then Oblivion. Thanks for all your opinions.
Oh and thanks for pointing out about the achievements, that is something I do care about (New characters, cutscenes, etc...).

Yeah, definitely Fallout 3. Most of the DLC is mediocre at best (almost all DLC is) but the core game is fantastic. If you've played the other Fallouts, it fits in perfectly. If you've never played the others but read trash fiction, it's like playing a game of Deathlands.
