For each forum what do links
Subscribe to this forum
Mark this forum read
do? I tried doing it but did not notice any new behavior. I looked for this info on the Faq page but it was not there.

Also is there a method by which I get notified when somebody starts a new thread via PM or Email??

I am not sure if this thread belongs to Suggestion/Problems forum or Tech Support?? Please move if you think it should belong to Tech support.

Thanks.

hmmm if you subscribe to a thread then you should receive a email to the address you provided with an email saying that a new post has been added to the thread. Let see if this works.

As far as "marking this forum read"....if you go back to the forums mainpage you will see some icons indicating that there has been new messages/threads that have been posted. By clicking on the "mark this read" button you will be able to tell by going back to the main page that you have read that forum already. Get it??

Well how do you subscribe to a thread.. there is no link for that.
There is a link for subscribing to the forum though just below the new thread icon.

actually yeah there is a "subscribe to thread" button...You have to click the thread and scroll all the way down...it says "subscribe to thread"....

I had subscribed to the thread and I received an email when you posted your last question.

Subscribe to forum is a useless feature of vbulletin. All it does is puts the subscribed forums in your usercp.
