Details:
How are you surviving the recession? The goal of this nationwide research project is to talk to real people, with real stories to find out what is going on in America and how the economic situation has affected their lives. We want to hear about how you, your friends, and your family have dealt with recent challenges and what kinds of real solutions you have found to manage the situation. * Participants will be paid. * We are looking for people from all over the country. * For this study we may ask you to allow interviewers to visit you in your home and/or for you to complete a diary of your thoughts on issues presented. * Whether through in-home interviews or a diary, the study will require a total of less than two hours of your time.

I don't know about this one. They're asking people to actually go interview you at your house.

I have done 2 over the years and they were fun. There is usually 3-4 people that come. One was about closet organizing, they took a video of my closet and asked some questions. Very easy 200.00 and the 2nd one was through ipsos and it was about toilet cleaners. They wanted to video you cleaning your toilet and any frustration you may have. That was super easy too for the $$$. I would def. sign up for another in home. I always make the appointment when I know my husband will be here just for added safety. So far I really have liked my in home interviews.

I experienced an in home taped interview a year ago on appliances. It was fine, but I made certain other family members were home at the time. Actually was really fun.

I'd love for them to pick me: my employer shut down and sold her business so I lost my P/T WAH job, and this news came on the heels on my husband's company cutting his hours to 32 a week. And a friend just had to shut down her small business (a brick & mortar store) this weekend because she couldn't afford to lose any more money.
Anyway, thx for posting this, it'll be interesting if they pick us for a home visit since we're 3+hrs from the nearest city on their list.

I'm in...was notified on Friday...doing the video study, not an in-home probably due to location. Anyway, it seems really easy and they give you direction into what they're looking for in how you're surviving the recession. We're put into groups of 10, and then the best video out of the ten you're in will get an additional $100. They said it isn't based on creativity (thank God!), but more on content and "real information". I'm looking forward to it. Good luck to everyone else who applied!

Did anyone else happen to do this study and use a flip video camera? I was told the flip video would be fine and I would recieve a link in order to upload the video. I have been emailing and calling this lady for 4 days, trying to get the link. She does not answer, and today is the last day to submit for payment. I spent a lot of time putting together my video, and it really upsets me that I probably did it all for nothing.
I was a little leary doing this in the first place. Giving out my information and then video taping my home, I just thought for sure they wouldn't rob me after they saw my video!! Looks like they might have figured that out before I even sent it!!!

I was supposed to get $75 for doing a video about how the recession has affected me, I should have just burned it to a cd and sent it in. I thought I would just get a link to upload the video and be done with it. I am calling, but they aren't answering. Looks like a case of shoulda, woulda, coulda had $75!
I got the invite and instructions last friday, and I had to video a grocery shopping trip. I do my shopping on tuesdays, and today was the dead line for the video, so I thought it would be fine, but no one will answer my emails or calls since tuesday. I don't give up that easy on $75! All said and done, they probably won't be calling me for any more studies after today.

Thats just like mean old evil me!
She replied very nicely and said she had been out of the office, and also sent the upload link. Now I will feel evil and mean and awful all day! Sorry I bothered everyone, thanks for the information, and thanks for letting me vent. I will have to share my $75 with all of you, if I get it.

Yes!
Two ladies came to my home and spent about two hours with us. One had a camera and one asked us lots of questions. It was lots of fun. They gave us homework so we would have materials for them in advance of the meeting. They asked us to describe how the economy is affecting us and wanted to know more about us.
It was a great way to earn money ($150).
