Im looking for 2-3 games that I can play to sort of jump start my interest in the PS3. I found that hastings has a deal for used games where you can buy 2 get the 3rd for 1 dollar.

What do you think about this list:
Metal Gear Solid 4
Uncharted
Grand Theft Auto 4

Total is $50

I think GTAIV is over rated.

MGS4 and Uncharted are a definite yes.

Other good older games: dead space, resident evil 5, warhawk, COD4, burnout paradise, are all games I have enjoyed.

I loved playing Uncharted. It's just a great video game experience. Excellent visuals, tight controls and great voice acting and story pacing. I've yet to play MGS4 or GTAIV so i can't comment on those, but of course they're highly praised and you can't really go wrong with them.

I'd also suggest LittleBigPlanet if you're into Platformers, Killzone 2 if you're into FPS's, and Valkyria Chronicles if you're into RPG's.

If you enjoyed the other GTA games then I guess you can leave it in there, if you didn't... this game won't change your opinion on it. (I found it really really boring)

Im sure the PSone games are good, but Ive realized that Im a bit of a graphics whore. I have had the Wii for a logn time now, and the childish renderings just don't do it for me. I like the realistic stuff the best

I'd say, knowing nothing about you, they're a safe selection, since they're among the highest rated games out there today.

Uncharted definitely... but then you will want UC2 in a couple weeks.

Ratchet and Clank was pretty fun and should be cheap.

Make sure you fit CoD4 into that list. And then make room for nov. 11 when MW2 (CoD4's sequel) hits shelves.

I'll try to help you out, OP.

Motorstorm is definitely a neat racer, and RaC was always fun when I played it on PS2, I'm sure it's only better on PS3.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been waiting on a B2G1 for some PS2 games and I'm about to put an order in. Do Hastings used games usually arrive in good condition?

Infamous and LittleBigPlanet are both fun.

I'd say forget any FPS games since trying to play an FPS with a console controller is about as enjoyable as sticking a broomstick up your bunghole. Save those for the PC.

Other than that, in addition to the titles everyone else has listed, I'd put Dynasty Warriors 6 on the list if you like button-mashers with a dose of character customization.

Really? I'm skeptical about this... I do enjoy FPS games on consoles but this whole broomstick thing sounds a little different.

See Kratos, this is why you are a horrible poster. If you dont have any experience with something, then dont freakin post! It is clear that superpotts is an expert on sticking broomsticks up his bunghole, so when he says that it is on the same level as playing FPS on a console, then you listen to the expert.

Now if you want to experience a broomstick up your butthole like superpotts does, THEN come in and comment, feel free... until then, please only comment on things you know about.

I would first get your network setting on the ps3 system. It will be better when you don't wanna go to your computer and stay on your ps3.
