i know there's a link for notifications on the upper right hand along with the new profile link.

but now that the notifications have been responded to, it now shows a private messages link like before.

i need the notifications link because opening it on a new tab is my way of getting to my subscribed threads quickly.

Just click the UserCP link.

Notifications link shows up only when you have new notifications. Otherwise (if you don't have any), it defaults to the old-style PM link.

Alternatively, use the Quick Links drop down menu, there is a Subscribed Threads option there as well
