Based on several requests and pleas from fellow loungers, I have decided to publish out the standard procedure for creating a chain.

Wot is a chain?
No - we are not talking about the one that your wife puts around your neck and feet in your bedroom. Chain here refers to the chain of posts that are joined together painstakingly by the dedicated members of the SD clan. The most popular one is the :iagree: chain. The most recent one can be viewed here (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showpost.php?p=1840271&postcount=225). The other variants to the chain are the :wave: chain, the :banned: chain, etc. It's only a matter of using your imagination and you can go down in SD history as the creator of an all-new chain!

How can I contribute to this legacy?
You should always be on the look-out for opportunities to create a new chain or pounce on the opportunity to continue one that's already started forming. Never ever should you feel too lazy to create one. A perfect chain needs patience and perseverance. There will be people who will oppose the chain movement. There will be someone screaming *Off-Topic* or Mod-alerting your post as spam. But this must not deter you from creating/continuing a chain. Remember to focus on the long term goal - Getting to see a chain elongated to its maximum extent. Currently, due to SD limitations, we can only have 10 links to the chain. But very soon we will submit a writ plea to Mr. Slickdeals to increase this to at least 25.

How can I go about creating a chain?
Although the non-believers correlate the creation of a chain to rocket science, it is not that difficult when you know how. Here is the basic structure of an :iagree: chain:

You can use the code above to create new chains or continue existing chains. All you need to do is replace the names with the actual names of the people forming the chain and replace the iagree with the appropriate smiley you are chaining

Why 10 minutes?? Keep practising...you should be able to create one in less than a minute. You can use this thread to practice
