Yesterday I was scheduled to participate in a 75-minute in-person focus group for 20/20 (I live just outside of Nashville, so I can do their in-person projects). The incentive was a $75 VISA gift card. I was contacted late yesterday morning and told that the client cancelled the focus group at the last minute, but they were still going to pay us the $75...plus, I can still qualify for future studies without having the typical 2-3 month waiting period.
Today I was supposed to attend a 15-minute taste test in Nashville. The incentive was $40 cash. I arrived 20 minutes before the scheduled start time and signed in...then I was sent home just before it was supposed to start because they always overbook and too many people showed up. I received my $40 cash and (I assume) I'm eligible to participate in future taste tests without have to wait the standard 2-months.
I'm a bit disappointed about not getting to participate in the taste test, but overall I'm thrilled that I made $115 in two days for literally doing nothing! It kind of compensates for my frustration with Datatelligence for screwing us out of part of our compensation on the 8-month long toilet bowl study.
