I've been whining about a logout problem and a lack of availability of certain scripting objects lately.
It appears all those things work fine with IE6-SP1, but for some reason, the new controls on the forum are not compatably with Netscape any longer.

My personal opinion... if you are designing for IE users, you are doing the world of personal computing a serious disservice. We all know about the serious exploits IE continues to have. It seems irresponsible, to me, that SD encourages people to use IE over the more secure Gecko cored browsers.

I would humbly ask Mr. Slickdeals to go back to whomever is charged with hosting and developing this forum and ask them to update their scripting controls for NS compatability.

Trust me, it's definately on the forum end, I have completely worked over the Java machines in this computer, had a consultant in to watch it, and both of us concur...whomever wrote the new controls set is working with 1/2 of a deck.

I've redone the java machines, both Sun Micro and VM several times, adjusted the activeX controls, brought in a very experienced programmer and run a number of tests on this machine while on SD. His opinion concurs with mine, it's on SD's end.
It occurs on all 3 machines I have running here currently, both in W2k & Xp-SP2 Corporate version.
If it were end user specific, there is no way it would cross machines AND OS's as well.
It seems to be limited, for me, to Netscape, Firefox works OK, what limited amount we ran it. The fact other firefox users are reporting kinks points to an incompatability in some scripting controls operation's underlying commands. We simply have no way to tell were the problem lies with the tools available. (Process watchers only work for the machine not the site)
IE also shows no problems. This makes us think it's Netscape related. As many know, NS & IE don't always display the same way, that's why the little certification seals on the bottom of many web pages for Opera, IE, & Gecko.
If any of you have used SD in IE and NS, you'll notice a glaring difference in the size of the fonts on the thread indexes.

I am currently working with someone named slickdeals  on this problem, hopefully, we will find the guilty culprit and hang it's arse out to dry.
