The credit should show up when you check out. If it doesn't show up you can just cancel before finalizing the order. I like how Amazon applies it automatically, instead of fumbling around with long promo codes.

I think you are correct. I received a promo credit (you received $40 when you spent $80) and used my credit toward New Super Mario Bros (which is a prerelease order).

I see your point though OP, and you might want to email/call them to confirm just to be safe since the games you want ships after the promo is to expire.

I will probably preorder BF BC2 for PC... that is probably the next game that I buy but it all depends on how much I like the multiplayer beta.

I'll use it, but I already ordered GOW collection and GOW3 w/ ECA discounts, so I'm not sure what I'll get, but I'll use the credits (got a copy for my friend too, so $40 of credit).

Okay well hopefully the credit can be used on preorders BEFORE 2/28/09 on games which release AFTER 2/28

Using it toward another videogame isn't the problem.. it's putting a specific time window on when I can use that credit. I was going to wait to use it until GOW Collection came down into the <$30 range and jump on it, but who knows if that'll happen by February. Pretty weak IMO, Amazon.

That's bullshit. I don't believe that, When you use the coupon, it changes the invoice price. They shouldn't be allowed to take away a coupon you already applied and increase the price on you. But I guess we've all seen worse in terms of retailers...

Put it on a game...and if they take it off be like I used it before Feburary 28, 2010. They'll either let you keep the game or give you the 20$ credit back...all you have to do is threaten to pre-order from walmart in the future and say their gift cards dont expire

I used promo codes when I preordered L4D2 and MW2 that expired long before the games shipped but not before I ordered so I would assume this will work the same however since its an automatic thing not a code it may be different. Im planning on using this and the $10 code I get from L4D2 to preorder BC2 so they sure as hell better work

They never gave me that 2nd credit. They said it was 1 per household and even though I received 2 emails saying I qualified for a credit, I was never going to get both. As good of a promo as it was, I still can't believe how limited that credit is... only 1 category on their site and it expires in 3 months? That's stupid.

Got GOW collection already have MAG and Bioshock 2 ordered through toyrus for the buy 2 get one free deal, got uncharted 2 free... 16.99 for gow coll.

I have mine too... if it turns out they really do screw people on the preorders for post-2/28 then I could always get MAG for PS3 which launches late January. But otherwise, it was going to be for GOW3 or GT5.

You should have received a confirmation email. But it's not a code, it's something added to your account. Next time you add a vid game item to the cart, the discount should show up.

You have to 'proceed to checkout' in order to see the credit. They sent emails confirming it would be there so if it got caught in your spam filter or something, you might be fine.

Send them an email, I never got the $5 credit for preordering UC2 and I emailed them saying I didnt get the $5 discount or the $5 mp3 credit which were promised for preordering and they gave me a $10 refund. Im sure they will either give you a $20 GC or $20 refund, doubt youll actually get the credit

They also forgot to give me the $20 Promo for MW2 so i emailed them and they gave it to me plus a extra $20 refund for the troubles :D :D

I argued with them a little bit that they should honor what they already told me I was getting to no avail. I know. I've emailed them twice already and I got the canned response "oh, we've had some trouble with the credit issuing, etc, expect the credit in your account in 2-3 days." It's been 3 days and I've tried to just plain check out, and no promotion appears in my account. It's definitely not there yet.
