99.999% of the websites I go to are not like this site. SlickDeals please make your links only clickable on the text itself. It's such a distraction and a weird thing in general to get used to when every other site on the internet is doing the opposite that you are doing. You seem to be sticking to your guns and making the whole screen clickable. Please get around to making this compatible to the majority and making your future solid and understandable.

Thanks

Without getting into my personal opinion on the bit of Javascript you're talking about...

The whole screen is not clickable. Just the boxes around thread title, start date, and last post date.

Most people, I think, scroll either using a mouse wheel (which this does not affect) or by using the scroll bars on the side of the page. SD leaves some open margin on the sides of the page, which should minimize accidental clicks on the boxes by the scroll bar.

What browser are you using, and at what resolution?

I'm bugged by this same issue. Makes me crazy when I'm clicking back and forth between windows and I frequently click on an area that is hyperlinked and it takes me somewhere I didn't intend to go.

i don't particularly agree with the mouse scrolling thing--you don't really need to click a blank area to scroll.

to me, the main problem with the huge clickable areas is that if you like having new windows for all the threads and such, and you hold shift to open up a new window, both the new window and the old window will navigate to the thread. Works fine with right click -> open in new window, though.

I use IE6 btw same behavior with firefox

You do when switching between screens.

Just go to the far left, it always works for me. (also # of posts is never hyper-linked)

I agree, and I do go to the far left or to the post count area before I click, but it's really annoying, especially when I'm moving between several programs and SD is the only one that has that "issue".
