In an ongoing effort to further reduce forum clutter, I'm starting a HU thread to post the "good" surveys for these three companies. SurveyHead, FocusLine, and EDU Research almost always post the same surveys at the same price, so I figured it would be good to just combine them together.

I just completed this survey. It's not a PT, but it only took me about 4 minutes to complete.

Just tried a 15-minute survey for $8.00. It said the chances of qualifying were 5%. Beware of this one...I think they collected all of the info they wanted from me, then asked me for demographic, like household income, etc., then gave me the DNQ. I did about 8 minutes of questions!

I just did one of those Focusline movie surveys which pay pretty well. When it ended, rather than direct me back to the survey screen, it gave me the "congratulations" message for completing the survey and a page full of "offers" filling the rest of the page. You know the offers I'm talking about...the kind like you find when you click on the "Coke or Pepsi" type "surveys." This is a new low for Focusline!

They get credited individually and the good news is you'll get an email once a survey gets approved. I've seen them credit anywhere from a couple days to several weeks. Survey companies typically slow down a bit then pick up before March. There's not really much advertising/promotion/testing to do post-Holidays. They'll kick back up for all of that so that products/ideals/concepts can be released before the summer.

Question Please- I have just done my third survey through this company that did not redirect back to the surveysite? The screen says that I will get credit in four to six weeks. I copied the URLS for my records. Since these surveys do not show as pending on the rewards screen like most of the ones that you complete, how do you know that they have ever been credited? Thanks for any help.

Princess_Spock
01-19-2010, 06:51 PM
Take screen caps of the last few screens of EVERY survey, so that if you don't redirect back you have proof of completion. And, take screen caps of the list of surveys with your cursor pointing to the survey you're about to take as part of your record keeping.

No matter what they tell you, you will very likely NOT get credited for surveys that don't get forwarded back; you have to keep track, follow up, and be prepared to hammer them with emails for every survey. Hopefully, the URL's you saved will help you; it's also helpful to know the exact time you took each survey (which screen caps will tell you).

If and when you DO get credited, you'll be able to identify each survey by the name and amount.

Good luck!!

Just a heads up - started a "12 minute" survey for a certain car company with a big recall going on which starts out as a normal survey, which is long enough, but then turns into a one-on-one interview that does not end. I finally bagged it after about 25 minutes when it became obvious I was not going to be allowed to end the interview or get paid.

I would advise skipping it if you can, simply unpaid information mining there.

Anyone waiting over a month for a cashout to paypal?

I requested a paypal cashout on 1/14/10 and it is still listed as "requested" - hasn't even gone to confirmed, then probably another month or so until I actually get it. Should be going to confirmed this week. I usually except 4 weeks from request to confirm, then another 4 weeks to actually get it, and if it happens sooner, I am happily surprised. They take sooo long to pay, but the surveys are steady and the pay does come.

But why do they take so long when even SS pays you instantly?

I emailed them about the cashout this is what I got:

Thank you for your email and I am sorry to just be getting back to you. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in processing your cash out request. Unfortunately we have been experiencing technical problems which means that this time around all cash out requests may take up to 6 weeks to be processed.

Kindly note that as soon as we get your cash out processed we will send it to you. We appreciate the effort you put into completing these surveys and are really apologetic for the delay that you have experienced in receiving your cash out request. In the meantime please accept our gratitude for your understanding and patience so far. If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Sincerely

do you have another company in mind too, or just this one?

My fault, the only other company that really comes to mind isn't really a true survey company. I was owed a $1000 Circuit City GC from Brandarama for doing 7 signup trial offers, and after a couple years I get a letter saying "Oh, we're no longer able to fullfill your gift, buh bye!" LOL

There have been some sites that delay payments, but I think as long as you stay on them, you eventually get payment.

If you have not updated your profiles in a while - most of them have been modified and you can update them for the usual reward: 20 to 50 cents each.

Just a heads up to anyone who does not regularly check their Surveyhead (and Focusline) profiles (like me).

Agreed, I used to sit there wondering why I lost out on surveys until I realized you have to go check the profiles to make sure they need updating (they don't send you emails to do so), but this is probably my favorite survey site (I can accept the payment delay), because I can sometimes get $10 of surveys out of them, and a very simple to use site.

Only thing I wish is that when you updated your profiles you didn't have to update each and every question of a section again. I wish it was a bit more like clearvoice where you can go to the exact questions that need updating or are new questions.

Darn, I was afraid they'd be slow. Between how long it takes for a pending survey payment to be applied to your account and then how long it takes for them to finally pay, you're looking at a good 6 months before the money finally reaches you! But I guess as long as they do finally pay that's all that matters.

I used to get Internet Explorer errors all the time with Surveyhead, my IE browser would crash and then have to restart. To get around that, I had to view my Surveyhead account with Firefox. It was the only browswer that worked at the time.
The problem was because I had installed that Nielsen software that tracks your internet usage. These softwares can slow down your computer and cause delays when opening webpages. As soon as I uninstalled the Nielsen software and restarted my PC, I've had no problems with Internet Explorer. Now I'm able to use IE for Surveyhead. Just a heads up. Check to see if you have any of those internet tracking programs installed, and just uninstall them. They're not worth the trouble IMO.

I haven't had that happen... yet, but I am seriously pissed off that I have a bunch of surveys still pending from January and February. I have emailed them half a dozen times about them being well overdue and gotten the same canned response each time.

I guess I have been lucky with them. I joined in Feb and the only ones I have pending are ones that I did recently, and then I have one from 3-13 and the rest are from April and on. I have cashed out three times, the first one for an Amazon gc that went through within a week. The second time for paypal which was requested 3-30 and that went through less than 4 weeks later. I then cashed out 5-18 but of course thats too soon to go through. I have never had any come up invalid though.

I've gotten several "invalids" for no apparent reason, always seem to be for high paying surveys so I think it's just their way of getting out of paying me. That's why I've stopped doing their surveys. Well that and because it takes 2+ months to receive payment once I finally have enough to cash out.

My first survey with them was on 6/25/08 and I have only ever had 3 invalids. 2 my first year with them, and now this one. So that is 3 in 2 years and none of them were of big value ..this last one was only $1.50, so it wasn't a big deal and definitely not enough to make me stop doing their surveys, but it does make me curious as to why it was marked invalid.

It does take awhile to receive payout from them if you request PayPal, but I have never had it take 2 months or more. Usually about a month. I have been cashing out for Amazon the past few times and they come quicker than PayPal did.

I had this same problem with a ton of surveys pending from the beginning of the year I emailed them probably 6 times and never heard anything back. I also recieved an "invalid" for survey 28582. I ranted about these invalid decisions in the rant thread recently because it does take time and effort to complete these surveys so to not be compensated for them without reason why not irks me to no end. A short explanation, other than the standard explantion in the Q & A section, would be nice. I find it difficult to believe I would make it through a survey and then have a subjective opinion determine that my responses are invalid.
