So I'm about to go to sleep and I just posted a deal, well instead of having everyone hammer the site who weren't even going to get on with the deal (it was a price mistake), I took a screen shot and posted it, maybe there could be a script (like google) that does this so everyone can look at it then if their REALLY going to buy it click the link and so on. Just a suggestion, mind you it is 4am here.

Just a suggestion, mind you it is 4am here.That's an intersting idea, and probably helpful, but if I were interested in the deal, I'd want to go ahead and check the actual site, in case the deal has changed. The load on the SD servers and bandwidth would be increased, so the net efficiency may not be much different.

It would probably be easier to host the pic on another webserver like a free one that would expire every say 2 days.

One month later...Still aproved of..PM Slickdeals?

I wonder if there might be copyright issues, or maybe posters would get angry if the deal changed after the screen shot was taken...

Come on guys, I think he would love to hear from you if you had a legitimate concern/suggestion about the site. If he didn't want people PMing him, he would have disabled it, no?

Just remember when PMing him (or anyone else)

* be polite

* make sure you have a valid reason

* be concise as possible--people are busy

* When I PM him, I ask him to respond when he has time

* I don't make it a habit
* I don't make it a habit
* I don't make it a habit (yes, it is that important)

* PM him at a time when he would be less busy (perhaps a weekend. not during any holiday season/ peak hours)

* just like everything else, use common sense

Here's how I write it.

Dear Mr. SD,

I am sorrying to bother you but I was wondering ___________ ? I know you are busy so please respond at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

tmk44
He's actually really quick: usually within 24 hours (more often 12 hours). And I respond by saying a very quick thank you, like 1 sentence.

If you think you have a good idea, give him a quick PM and just keep that list I wrote in mind.

:)

and again and probably most importantly

* don't make it a habit
* make sure you have a valid reason
* be concise as possible--people are busy

Good Luck!
