In all that might suck about the holidays, something good came out of it. Last night, about 5pm, I was standing in my dining room looking out the window (no real reason) when I saw a USPS delivery vehicle zoom by my house at like 40 mph (my road used to be dirt and no one drives over like 20). They stopped rather quickly, and then started in reverse at a pretty good pace till they got to my driveway and stopped. I was a little miffed, especially when the guy got out and started walking to my door. He had a rather large, brown box that he practically threw at me before running back to his car.
Inside was....
A NERF DART TAG SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was selected as a winner in a study done by some UMass-Amherst Grad Students in Business. They had a survey up regarding HvZ (Humans vs Zombies), NERF, and the association between the two. You had a chance to win a NERF product by filling out the survey.... apparently out of 1000 responses I was chosen... First contest I won where the prize wasn't pretty crappy. The system runs like $30-$40, depending on where you look, and they paid $15 to overnight it from Massachusetts. So I basically won a $50 NERF Tag System :woot: :whee:
The best part? Pawned it off on my brother as a gift for our nephews. Made $40. I wasn't in it for the NERF product- actually, I was linked to the survey through the people who were heading the HvZ game I was in a few months ago, and didn't learn you could win anything until after I took the survey. I figured I'd fill out a survey that took 5 minutes for a fellow college student (I might be in their position some day) and yeah.
I'm really happy. Especially about the $40 :P
