is it me, or is anyone else having to manually log back in if they haven't clicked on a slickdeals.net forum, home, etc. . . for a while?

Seems to work fine for me.
works fine for me. Sometimes I do wish there is a easier way to find my posts though. Somehow the fonts look bigger today. Did slickdeals change the setting.

Hmm... it used to be that it "remembered me" on both my home and work PCs. But now it seems that it only keeps one 'logged in'. So I'll have to log in twice a day... at work in the morning and in the evening at home.
I hope you are joking..
They used to be tiny fonts. Now they look bigger. Why should I joke about this.

Like, just now, before I replied to your thread, I had to log in again. For like the 5th time today. I go to another site, then click back on the Slickdeals.net link and I have to sign in all over again.
didn't do that to me. I just tried it.

so maybe we should all see what browser we're using? both those that this occurs with and those that it doesn't. i use IE and i have to manually log back in after about 5-10 minutes of no activity.

Internet Explorer for me too.
I have IE but I didn't exit for over 5 minutes. I will try later when I get back.

If i do not have any activity on slickdeals.net, it seems to "time out" and log me out and i have to manually log back in. i don't have to leave the site for a while and come back, but just leaving for lunch, coming back and i have to log back in.
i use WinXP for OS and IE v6 for browsing.

Seems to work fine in Opera and XP. Blame those "other" browsers.

Yes.. the whole format (and software?) changed. New icons, etc.

that's mainly what i'm thinking is that it's working with certain browsers, but i wanted to throw up some different options.

I chose other because i'm on my kids computer right now, and it has win2000pro with IE and I haven't had any problems yet.

The fonts are 10pt. If everyone agrees that it's overly big, I can change it to 9pt.

Something seems to be eating your cookies. Is it turned on? Also, the forum sets a cookie depending on which url domain you use to enter.
For example
http://slickdeals.net/forums/
http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/
I think http://slickdeals.net/forums/ gets precedence but try logging on to both and set them to remember you. The www and non www urls get used interchangeably.

i logged in with ie this morning (even though using mozilla mostly now) and checked back in and i'm still logged in.

Hi, Guys,
Ever since the update (which looks good, except for the big fonts), I have to login every time I visit. I check off Remember Me each time I do it, to no avail. This happens on both computers I use. This didn't happen in the prior versions.
Any ideas how to get this to stick?
Thanks,
Kevin

Seems to work fine for me. Perhaps you should clear your cookies and try again w/ the "remember me" option.

That did the trick at home. I'll give it a try at work later. Thanks! :)

Interesting how the forum gets an overhaul, ppl begin having problems, and it's their cookies. What a weird coincidence. :shake:

BTW, deleting the cookies at work fixed the problem as well. Thanks.

What I'm saying is, how could that be everyone's cookie problem? So suddenly and all? To me it doesn't make sense.

Apparently it is not -everyones- problem. Perhaps the cookies set by the previous version of vBB were not properly expired/reset/deleted by the new version so a new set was created and now people have conflicting cookies for the same site. Though I don't have the problem with either Mozilla FireFox or Internet Explorer on this system. so I can't really diagnose it.
I'd recommend manually clearing your cookies, and update to the latest version of whatever browser you are using. It could just be a problem with a specific older version of IE or some such issue.. doesn't hurt to try.

I'm with Snipe. Remembering your logon is a cookie-centric function, the switch apparently messed up some people's cookies.
After the switch, I had to re-login to get a new cookie. But I only had to do it once.
