Is it just me or is SD running like crap lately?

I thought it was this POS computer at work. And since I DL'd new anti-virus software at home I thought that was slowing things down.

I've been encountering intermittent anomalies such as blank pages returned when submitting a poll or changing the number of poll options.

The site is running near perfect for me; you guys could try clearing cookies and cache, it seemed to help my case. Just refresh the blank pages, usually works after requesting a new thread.

Things are definitely moving slower since they moved to a different server. It is especially bad on my PC at work. I just got the new Compaq configured at home & it ran pretty well there last night. I'll have to try the cleanup option & see if it helps here at work as it is painfully slow on this PC.

i'm getting a gray gray screen for the SD homepage. before their IP wasn't resolving, and before that the site didn't work.

this can't all be opera's fault!

It seems to be mainly the home page. Once I get into the forums, everything is fine.

Blank forum pages occur more frequently now than earlier in the day...

Yeah, it all started after that day they upgraded the hamster.
Sometimes it wont come up at all, other pages work fine.

There was an incorrect configuration with the DNS servers so the url to the image server wasn't resolving correctly. It has been fixed.

The servers serving blank pages are because of apache seg faulting. I'm trying to figure out why it is doing that.

thanks Mr.SD we do appreciate this site and I am confident that it will soon be running as smoothly as it was before.

or even better! :D :D :D
I was going to put that in there but thought I sounded like enough of a brown noser. And I usually try to avoid that at all costs

I think these issues are getting worse today. It took me an hour to post due to: cannot find pages appearing for adding attachments and new postings. Finally went through, but twice. I know your working on it. Just though I would mention it was still occuring in case everyone thought it was fixed.
Thanks MR. SD

Nothing is fixed, I have a computer that has never accessed Sd before and I have always used slickdeals.org and it is not working at all. and when I do get on, when I post I get an error message and a server cant be found error. But my post is posted.

On every link I click I receive the message that this page cannot be displayed! About 75% of the time I can see the page when I refresh. Also I am receiving the same message when I attempt to post, search, and use the mod alert function!

Is there like a 15 second rule? Seems that if I click too fast, I have problems then viewing the next page .If I wait a few (or 15) seconds then the next page loads o.k. Weird.....................

What's going on here??? I can't get onto SD at all from my computer. It's the only site on the internet that I can't access. I've tried Firefox, IE, Opera, and Netscape, cleared my cache, cleared cookies, deleted Temp Int Files, run adaware and virus scan, even Restored my computer to a day last week when it was working. I can get on using an Anonymizer but that is super slow. I went to bed yesterday morning about 4 am and tried to back on SD at about 10 am and haven't been able to get in to the Forums since. Up until this morning, I could at least open the front page and now it won't even do that much.

Edit: Whatever the problem was... it's fixed now. :)

The Mods are aware (and experiencing it as well), Mr. SD will hopefully have the answer.

Just started working again about 15 minutes ago after a 29+ hour hiatus. Hooray!

Now back to Hot Deals... :P

We're slowly moving all the services in-house. The parent nameservers were recently switched yesterday so there might be some DNS issues until everything is propagated properly.

in English please? oh forget it...as long as it stays up while all of the glitches are being worked out than I'm happy :)

Usually at 2am and 4pm Central Standard Time I am unable to access the site. I hit the link, it tries to connect and then nothing. I keep trying for about 10 to 15 minutes and I finally get in ( if I'm lucky).

If I'm already in the site at 2am CEntral Standard time, and try to post, it sits there for a long time and never does anything. I click out and try to get back in and it takes about 10 or 15 minutes to access the site again

The site was taken down for ~25min for maintenance a little earlier. That would explain the temporary blip.

The last few days have been rocky with apache crashing all over the place. It seems to be more stable now so lets see if there are more problems later today.
