If you want to give 3, 2, or 1 points, the n00bs, should be able to give 1, 1/2 and 1/3 points...which is way too complex and lacks meaning.

No, just don't break it doen to 1/2 point or 1/3 point. 1 2 or 3 rep points would be a great addition because not every person i give a rep point to deserves a full 3 points, for whatever reason.

I see your point........like, someone posts a really new, never before seen deal, and is the true "OP"....meaning, he didn't just swipe a deal from somewhere and repost it here. He would prolly get 3 points. Wheras someone else, who simply swipes and pastes, might get one point for simply passing along some info.

Your decision comes down to the necessity of the rep point. If you feel someone deserves a rep point, give it to them. It will be worth 3 points. Joe Schmoe's down the road will only be one. It comes with the territory.

why don't you rep 'em and then nerp 'em...that'll give them 2 instead of 3. ;)

Excellent! Even tho I can only give one right now, I agree that having the flexibility to give 1, 2, or 3 for those that can do that, would be a nice enhancement to the site.

Since I've earned the ability to award 3 pts I've been even more selective when deciding who to give them out. I would like to give 1 pt to someone who posted a moderately helpful msg, then give 3 pts to the person who posted a sweepstakes in which I won $500 (which I did!).

but is it for 2 like 3 rep points when you no rep it to be for posters with 100 rep points, for 3 rep points instead? or half is 1 for 2 points?
