Mods-
Today's Gold Box deal first post is posted in a wrong 'Category' and my understanding is that it should go to explicit 'Category' - Hard Drives. I have alerted Mods earlier this morning and haven't got any response?
But for the same reason one of my GB deal post was deleted last month and I was told that I posted in the wrong 'Category'.
Also I'm just wondering why my Gold Box deal posted with correct 'Category' was deleted this morning.
Can any one help me to understand all these?
Thanks in advance!
RaGe420 posted the 1.5TB deal before you and selma.
Also, if you MA a thread you can check on the status of your MA's under Quick Links -> View Mod Alerts (http://slickdeals.net/forums/modalerts.php?).

So which is the correct Category for this post? Hard Drive or Tech? It can't be both?
If Tech is a correct Category then 'Hard Drive' is redundant...don't you think?

'Other' is the correct one for today's Amazon Gold Box deal?

You're making too big a deal of this. Use whatever icon you think is right.

:iagree:
Standard rules: the first couple of reposts get merged together. After that, they get deleted.

But my other question was about choosing a 'Category'.
I'm jus trying to understand the correct way of doing things here...there is nothing I try to make it as a big deal. And I believe today's post is chosen with incorrect Category.
Here is the Mod's response about choosing Category received earlier this month-

RE: Tonight's amazon deal
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello bluguys
I saw your thread in Issues and Suggestions, and the reason why it was removed, is because your thread had an "Other" icon, whereas it should have been DVD.
I believe we didn't send you that portion of rules on accident, so from now on, please remember to do that.
Here are the updated full rules.
Rules
Amazon Friday Sales - At least 3 items must be listed with prices and they must be linked individually.
Amazon Goldbox - If the sale has 3 items or less, all items must be listed and linked. If the sale has more than 3 items, you must list at least 3 items w/ prices but do not need to link them. Regardless of how many items, the items listed and prices must be accurate and be part of the sale. Inaccurate listings will invalidate your claim. Also, different versions (PS3,Xbox,Wii) or sizes/colors with the same price may be counted as one item. Lastly, the Amazon Goldbox page must be linked.
For all other recurring Amazon sales - The sale must be linked. If there are 10 items or less in the sale, all items must be listed but you do not have to link to each one. For sales with more then 10 items, you must list at least 3 items and each must be linked.
For ALL recurring Amazon sales (Friday sales, Monday Sales, Kitchen Sales, etc), do not post each item individually in it's own thread. However, you may post an individual item if the price is 50% or less then what is listed on Pricegrabber or comparable search engine. If your deal is unlikely to receive 3 or more thumbs up, don't bother.
All the info must be made on the very first submission. You are permitted to correct errors such as obvious typos but prices and link must be correct. The mods will check to see if all the pertinent info is there before edits.
Other people are exempt from these rules unless they start to consistently post these types of deals. When they do, these set of rules will be applied to them.
You must pick the correct thread icon. Unless, it's really "Other", then "Other" is not acceptable
Amendments
If the thread contains only one item, either the title or the post content must contain the price. The post content must contain link & item.
The deals must be posted within 2 minutes of each other for the rules to apply.
If the deal does not fit into any of the rules, we will fall back on timestamp.
A mod alert can be used for the initial repost report. Subsequent followups need to be done via pm.
All complaints must be sent via pm to the moderator that handled the mod alert, slickdeals, Selma & Rage420.
Since we're now discussing as a group, any vulgarity (words such as bitch, bitching, bs, bullshit, idiot etc etc) or personal attacks towards the other user will immediately invalidate your complaint even if you are correct. Be nice and civil.
Decisions are final and do not set any precedent until rules have been updated.
Lightning Deal Rules
Must include link to the Lightning Deals page.
All items in the Lightning deal must be identified.
All items must be linked on the initial post.
Prices are not necessary but you need to update your post when pricing is available.
If you do not update the price in time, we will not merge a thread with an individual Lightning deal item. We may merge them at our discretion if we believe the deal doesnt warrant it's own thread.
Do not post the items individually especially if you already posted the general Lightning deal.
These rules only apply to both of you. People who start to post Lightning deals are allowed to bypass these rules 3 times before these rules apply to them.
Both Selma and RaGe420 have been notified of them a while ago, and it's unfortunate that we made that ommission when we conveyed the rules to you.

bluguys, you are correct. The category icon should be hard drive so I removed Rage420's post. Congrats, you won last night!
