I recently posted another code for more free photos from shutterfly. Now I understand that there were other deals posted on the same day for shutterfly as well but don't understand the reasoning behind merging my thread with another.
How did my thread get merged with another thread that contained a different code? Now yes, given that if we had a "shutterfly" specific thread that would make sense, but my thread was merged with a thread which did not mention the same deal, just the number of photos. There was one post that mentioned that mine was the "same" code as the canon one, which it is not. Just doesn't make any sense. To me it would seem like merging all deals to be company specific to BB, CC, OD, etc to be reflective to the company and not a specific deal.

it is probably because too many threads are created on the same subject even if it's different codes. there were about 3 just today on Shutterfly Codes.

I understand your point, but it brings it back to the issue I raised about merging company specific posts. It would be like saying there were three seperate posts for Best Buy today so lets merge them.

If there were all for coupons, then I'd merge them together.

The Shutterfly codes are considered "coupon codes" and thus, should be merged to save space.

Doing a company specific thread for things like BB, CC, OD, OM, CUSA, etc doesn't make sense, since they spawn many different kinds of deals. The threads would become long and hard to manage, and information would be lost within them.
Shutterfly, on the other hand, has a very specific audience. Those that use shutterfly know what to expect, and the deals are nearly always of the same variety. The threads stay short, and with all the Shutterfly deals in one place, it makes it easy to compare/search for them.
All coupon codes for Shutterfly belong in one thread, especially when they are concurrent deals on similar/same items.

Strange, I posted a reply a few minutes ago that didn't post.
Point taken about the merging. So how come we don't have a shutterfly thread yet?

I believe there is one floating around in Coupons.

I don't know if it would matter at all, but with the latest posts for shutterfly it seems like they are catching on faster than ever to cancel the codes (approx 3-4 hours during business hours for the canon one, the nikon one earlier today since I posted it later in the day). Not only are the codes cancelled but also offers removed from accounts. I suppose the msn article earlier this year is also to blame as it pointed right to here and FW as for places the offers were being posted. With them catching on so fast is it still good to keep grouping all of the offers together? I know it takes some work to find them and it's not as convenient for others who like them all in one place, but nobody ever said life would be easy. Of course it would make their life a little more difficult in finding the deals that are posted, giving more slickdealers the opportunity to get in on the deal. I know it's nothing that can be controlled as some members will undoubtedly post lists of ongoing offer codes but even that usually takes a while to happen, unlike merging all the posts together. As I stated in the title, just an idea and I realize it may not go far.

You either will have to wade through one thread with 100 posts to find an active code or 20 threads to find an active one. It seems easier to me to have one thread, start at the end and look back to find the most recent offer posted instead.
