Ive posted a thread in the lounge about this, and people seem to agree that some threads get overwhelmed with people thanking the OP or saying "good deal" or "nice find."
In shutterfly threads, I like to read through in case someone posted another code later on, but if 85 people say "thanks OP" and 2 give useful info, it's more hurtful to the thread than anything else.
Is there a system that can be set up to show appreciation, let others know that you think it is a good deal, and keep it near the top of the list, without filling the thread with useless posts?
thumbs up would work, but they dont bump the thread to the top of the list. PMs and rep points also work, but dont let others know that its a good post, or keep it at the top.
There should be something... maybe a automatic second post for each thread that says "the following people thank the OP for finding a good deal." then anyone who wants to can add their name, and keep the deal at the top of the list, without adding hundreds of useless posts.
I dont know whether the discussion board system that SD uses can support something like this, or some other method, but there must be something that can be done.
