I was talking with a few other members. We are talking about starting a Yahoo Fantasy Football league when the season comes around between us members. Would it be feasable to have a Forum for the Slickdealers involved in Fantasy Football to discuss the league, trades, draft, aquisitions, etc....?

I participated in a league this year, but I will be going to college. I doubt we will get another league goin, so I'd be interested in being part of the league you're talkin about. What would you think about that?

Sounds good to me. I want to do a Slickdeals Fantasy Football league this coming year. We can also all throw in to have Stat Tracker for everyone. It makes the games much more fun to watch. I was thinking maybe 10 or 12 teams tops. Don't want to spread the players out too much.

1 QB
2 RBS
2 WRs
1 TE
1 K
2 DBs

Alright, I wouldnt mind pitchin in at all. We could talk about what positions as it got closer...I have a friend that helped run one last year. He could recommend some options to use.

if only 10 teams I'm claiming one now, sounds like a good idea

When I hear ideas like this about Football, it reminds me of XFL.

...what's rating for XFL again?

Well, in alot of them, there is a draft where each person recruits a player from the nfl until each person has enough positions filled. There are still lots of players left, so you can trade or pick them up later on in the season if one of ur player's gets hurt or performs poorly. Then, you go up against another team in ur league each week, and whoever gets the most points...wins. You get points how on well your players perform...yards, td's, sacks, blah blah. There are other ways to play fantasy sports, but this is the way I played last season. You can also play where you have a certain amount of money to spend and you have to buy all ur players. The more popular players are worth more, but different teams in your league can have the same player.

I don't like the ones where you can have the same player on 2 teams. I like it to be as real as possible. I'm assuming we will do an online draft.

Yahoo Fantasy Football has a forum setup so that members of the same league can communicate with each other. They also have more general forums too.

Yep. Yahoo is what we use every year. I was also suggesting the forum for people to come here and ask advice also. Some of us are more experienced FF players and could help the Slickdealers who are new at it.

The stat tracker provided by yahoo is also one of the best. Not free but worth it by far.

I have been in a Yahoo league for the past 4 years. They are pretty good, if you don't like the options. For example, you have to wait until Tuesday morning to check your scores. If you want the StatTracker, which is their live scoring program, you have to pay $9.99 per person in your league. There are many sites out there that cost about the same and include all of this. So, if you're a casual player then I'd go with Yahoo.
scores come day after the game is played on yahoo. final stats come day after last game of the week, which is tuesday. for free its really not bad. and you know you can always calculate it yourself for free.

I like the Yahoo leagues. When the season comes around, we will hold a Slickdealers league.

I'm a good fantasy football coach player too! I won first in my league three years ago. That was a great year cause I showed all the men I was playing with that I knew what I was doing :)

Count me in for a FF league!!

I usually play on Yahoo and it's not that bad.

Why would you pay to play Fantasy Football? It is free.

If anyone wants to play a FREE version, I'm in.

I don't think so. We'll stick with Yahoo. It's free (unless you use stat tracker). It's worked great the past 3 years.

Never understood the point of fantasy football. It always seemed like a waste of time to me, I guess no more than video games or tv, depending on what you are watching.

Have you ever played? You should try. If you even somewhat enjoy Football, you would like it and benefit from it. Your knowledge of the game and players increases tenfold. I became much more of a fan than I already was because of Fantasy Football. Keeping track of "your" players throughout the season and competing against friends and/or family makes for some great fun.

7/19 is way too early to have the draft. Guys always get hurt in the pre-season like Chad Pennington & Mike Vick did last year and if you had picked them you'd be screwed.

The first game of the season is Sept. 9th, we should have the draft at the end of August so no one gets stuck with an injured guy before the season even starts.
