Why when I click on a SlickDeals link I'm transported to a page that says the page cannot be displayed?

I do have Zonealarm but this happens even when I turn it off.

I do allow Cookies.

I want SlickDeals to get credit for the clickthrough.

Sometimes the links arent put on correctly or they have copied a link from a site that was logged in under a username.
not really sure why some sites do not show up

Tangz, yes and no.
The issue is primarily from "pop-up blockers", anti-spam, anti-spyware, and "Internet Protection" applications that modify a system file called "HOSTS". In this file you will find entries that are added from these applications to prevent you from getting pop-ups, and accessing possible Spam like sites that warehouse and sell your email.
If you do get a site that people post links to that you have to "log in", you will most likely be redirected to the home page or a error status page from the actual web site itself.
Follow the instructions as posted from lowpro, you will see that it’s going to be the issue.
Also note that even if you uninstall your application the “HOSTS” file may not be reverted.
Most HOSTS file might have entries like this (Windows 2000):
127.0.0.1 beseenad.looksmart.com
127.0.0.1 beseenad1.looksmart.com
127.0.0.1 beseenad2.looksmart.com
127.0.0.1 beseenad3.looksmart.com
127.0.0.1 beseenadx.looksmart.com
127.0.0.1 bfast.com
127.0.0.1 bizad.nikkeibp.co.jp
127.0.0.1 bn.bfast.com
127.0.0.1 botw.topbucks.com
127.0.0.1 bsads.looksmart.com
127.0.0.1 by.advertising.com

Go to a link that you have known issues with, move the mouse over the link, and see the actual link shown in the status bar at the bottom left of the Internet Browser. Then find that entry in your HOSTS file and remove it. Use notepad to view the file and modify the file, by doing a right click and open with.
I am not the tech-support, but I hate to see someone get wrong advice.
