Poll coming..

I watched "Hot Tub Time Machine" over the weekend.

In case you haven't seen it, the male lead actors are all overwieght.. 3 of the 4 are in their 40's or older.

I just wonder why they think it's a good idea to show some dude's fat, middle aged, hairy butt? Who wants to see that?

They had a body double in another scene.. That's more acceptable to me..

I mean, they wouldn't have a woman do a nude scene if she was obviously out of shape.. why is it ok for guys to do it? I find this recent trend somewhat disturbing.

I don't enjoy male nudity, but if they are going to show it, can't they at least use an actor that is somewhat in shape and young, so that the female and gay viewers will enjoy it?

So what's your opinion?

Was the body double middle aged and overweight too? If so, aren't you still looking at an overweight middle aged man?

Yes, I agree with you, don't want to see it unless it's a nice young firm butt :yummy:

Absolutely not! The male body is just plain repulsive. Stick to naked women only in movies.

Nudity is not always for your viewing pleasure, it's sometimes to further the plot of the movie. In HTTM, it was for shock value humor. I didn't want to see Jason Segel's cock in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but a couple of those scenes were pretty funny.

Also, shouldn't you want to be repulsed by male nudity (assuming you're a hetero male)? The last thing you want is to see a good looking man naked and think "damn, that's a good looking fellow".

Need a more apathetic poll option.
I don't really care. I guess that means I approve, but it doesn't mean I'm clamoring to see more meat missiles on the silver screen.

what about naked hermaphrodites?

No, we do not want to see you naked.

yep. if i had the choice, i'd say let's ditch the male fleshy bits, but i'm not going to skip watching something based solely on the fact i see some guy's butt or wang for five seconds.

the best television series i've ever seen (The Wire) had short scenes that featured full-frontal nudity (male and female) and homosexuals making out (lesbian and guy/guy). it didn't bother me overly much because it wasn't a gimmick; it was used just like a naked woman/straight people doing the same stuff to further the plot or explain/expand on the characters. not saying i didn't cringe when i saw two guys french kissing, but it didn't bother me to the point that i had to turn it off.

Hmm depends... is the male delivering a pizza to a house full of unsuspecting young females... or perhaps a plumber fixing some womans pipes?

All-in-all... I don't really care... It's not going to make or break a movie if I have to endure some naked guy for 5 seconds...

Don't like the poll options. Sometimes you need nudity in a scene and sometimes it's lots of fun. Harvey Keitel in The Piano springs to mind. ;)

:

No, the body double was not middle aged and overweight, that's how it was an obviuos body double.. :)

I dunno.. I don't really think a lot of it was for shock value either, as another poster said, at least in this movie. Although I think he's right, sometimes it is for the shock value.

Oh come on, are you that uncomfortable with your sexuality that you can't appreciate another man's level of attractiveness?

I have no problem appreciating other attractive women, even though I would never sleep with a woman. :dontknow:

I agree - plus, OP, you can't categorize old, ugly, hairy ass male nudity the same way you categorize hotter male nudity.

If anything, we need more male nudity - most on-screen nudity is female!

That's what the third option was for.. if the dude is hot, you approve..

But that's interesting. I wondered how many women want more male nudity in movies.

male nudity seems like its mostly added for shock humor

It doesn't bother me. Like someone posted before, most men see boners in a lot of the "movies" they watch. I find it funny when guys are all repulsed by male nudity but then watch the same looking bouncing dong later that night.

Personally I think those guys might be getting a little turned on by male nudity, thats why they got to be so repulsed and anti-gay. Just makes you look gayer my dude.

Hell yea! It's different with women. Homosexuality would be way more accepted if it was just about two chicks.

Personally..I'm not sure? I have no issues if they're down to their boxers..and I didn't necessarily have any problems watching the Watchmen in IMAX...but I guess it depends on where they're going with it.

I don't mind when it comes to art, or any of the sort, Ancient Roman/Greek movies etc..that is expected.

But if they start getting all "up and around" with it..then yeah..probably would bother me a lot.

I'm exempting porn because that's a given..but if it comes to major films/productions...might have some issues...

AKA..I would definitely have a huge issue watching something like Equus for example. Yeah..no...not happening.

Personally..I think there should be more lesbians making out. I just got done watching Jennifer's Body today..and I forgot how hot Megan Fox was..even when she starts ripping flesh from your bodies..:drool2:
