i'm a 21 year old male from texas. last time i bought a suit was 4 years ago. my body has changed, i need a new one (or 2). i'm looking for something kinda "stylish" too that i can wear out on the weekends to something nice. ideally i want 2, one solid color and one pin stripped. price limit i'm hoping is no more than $500 for 2, but if i have to up the price a little for something nice that'd be fine. also, for someone who use to work in clothing retail, i'm looking for some badass customer service

sry for the awkward post lol any suggestions? so far i can only come up with department stores and men's warehouse

My friend who works at a bank recently purchased a suit from there that retailed $500. He got it for $250 on sale.

Sometimes there are stores in the mall that sell suites and all and you can usually negotiate a good price when buying two. I notice its mostly the store owners that run and work those shops so they can help you price wise.

It may sound nuts, but Goodwill. Seriously. Women donate the ex's clothes and if you are lucky you can find high end suits, in your size, for $10. A friend of mine scored three Armani suits (new with tags) and a tux for $50.

FYI, it helps if you are a popular size.

They usually will have good coupons.

Macys or Nordstrom's when they have their half yearly sale. Dont ever go to Mens Warehouse or those cheap suit stores like K&G, the quality is horrible. You get what you pay for.

Thrift shops have the same stuff, but much cheaper.

I suggest a decent haberdasher & they can suggest what you would need with the way you look & want to look & you pay more but that's for his time.

I was really lucky and picked up a nice suit that retailed for $400+ at JC Penny's for $100 (Sale price + % off coupon). It's not Armani or anything, but it looks good and there were a few others that were solid choices as well.

Basically, just hit up the mall and look in the menswear sections for good sales. It may take a little hunting, but you can find something.

Alternatively, the Goodwill suggestion is not to be dismissed. If there is a Goodwill or two close to where you live, check it out. I managed to snag a nice shirt and tie combo for $10, both of which are nice pieces. Women ditch their ex's clothes, and people with a hell of a lot more money than I have ditch their "old, unfashionable" clothes.

K&G for sure. Their prices are great and they have the same designer name brands as Macy's for a lot less money.

my best suit is from brooks brothers, but they are a bit more expensive. i've lost 25ish pounds since, so i have to get it re-tailored though.

i've tried other suits (a $350ish calvin klein suit) and the fabric just doesn't feel as smooth/comfortable. i think it also keeps you cooler too.

Check out Macy's for the Men's Claiborne or Perry Ellis in the sportswear section, not in the dress suits department. They are sold as separates also, so you can get a good fit for $150-300.

What others said about high-end dept. stores when they have close-outs or other sales and about Goodwill. If you buy new and cheap, JC Penny's is actually surprisingly good. Men's Warehouse sells all kinds of quality, but I don't know the prices.

Stick with "kind of conservative but doesn't make you look fat" because you don't want some heavily marketed fashion trend of the moment that will become next year's prominent wart. Pinstripes tend to be a bad idea.

I wonder what style suit is in? Certainly not the Superfly suit.

Then use the 30% off code and get the $10 per $50 spent in Kohl's cash back to you starting tomorrow. See http://www3.slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2182909&p=31860353

Here's a suggestion for the time being...if you're fly enough.
