Friend won an Ipad 16gb with wifi at work. He has no use for it, I told him its better to sell the Ipad and get a laptop. Guy doesn't even know how to turn a pc on. It is brand new unpackaged.

What is a good selling price for it. In store it sells for $499 plus tax, depending what state you live in.

if store does 500, go at 450 if it's still seal in box... should sell quick.

$500 cash/carry and no tax. $650 if it's a WiFi+3G. Someone (non-SD) always pays for convenience.

If you are putting it on ebay, start it at 1 penny. All the people that want one, but live 200 miles away from FedEx, only pay with PayPal or just lazy, will pay more than $500. If it's a Wifi+3G then $700+. <-- from ebay completed item search for the past 24 hours.

Then you have fees (about $30-$50) and have to ship it.

they would hella not pay 500 no tax if it's 500 + tax in store... that's a hard sell, plus would you want to hold 450 of cold hard cash in your hand now or wait 2-3 month and that POS drop it's price and you're still stuck with it?

Ebay + paypal does take some sort of fees right? assume he sell it for 500 (which is unlikely) - all kindda fees, that's virtually the same thing as selling locally on cragslist for 450.

It's more like $550 (- fees) on ebay as of today.

I already said people will pay, if you cant wait 2-3 days either way for your money then take a 10% cut today and be happy. Wait for a Local shopper (if urban) who doesn't wan't to bid/order or wait a week to get it.

It's not smart to leave 10% of your money on the table. Put that $450 in the bank and tell me when it's gonna equal $500 again. Long long time.

Now. if you need cash for the Cash for Crack program, then take whatever now or put a little effort in and wait a few days for a 10% return.
