According to the new rules, never ending freebies are merged only if the original is less than 6 months old.
We'll only merge threads if the new offer is the same and the old offer hasn't expired. For never ending freebies, we'll merge them if the original post is less than 6 months old. Please mod alert accordingly.
So here's my question... what happens if a new thread is started for a never-ending freebie but people keep replying to the original post? Can the original thread get locked/closed or will they both remain open? Here's a good example:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=63981&t=130461 from 8/26/05
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=63981&t=233302 from 4/16/06 (which has a "REPOST" reply within the thread even though according to the new rules, it's not.)
So now we have two threads open for the exact same magazine.

Yes, we will lock the old ones. Just mod alert them if they are bumped and a newer thread already exists.
