Was looking for earlier post on that and didn't found, so decided to post that deal. Be easy on me...
Look at this previous post - XM Radio 60-Channel Free Preview Nov. 18 - Dec. 1 (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=962062&t=2381347) (thanks BlueEyeGuy). Go to the link in the post - http://www.xmradio.com/8021 and you can still subscribe for the 2 weeks internet free. After subscribing, call XM using the number at the buttom of the page 1-877-486-8021 (don't call costumer service) and ask for the promotion - $20 for the first 5 months. Tell the agent that you subscribed for the 2 weeks free and now you are ready to go for the full service.
Got the price without any problem. Tried to get the internet service as well but the agent insist to add $3.99 for that so I gave up.
$19.99 + $2.16 activation fee = $22.15 Total for 5 months (Everything plan)
There is a chance that you can get the price without subscribing first (the agent didn't checked my email anyway)
Good luck

Does this have to be an inactive radio? I just called and they told me they would not honor the promo. Any recommendations, e.g. call and cancel, just keep calling? Tks.

Actually, the best deal I scored with these jokers was $60/yr using the code WINBACK.
Just called and got the $77/year deal.

Call 1-800-998-7900 (I think this line is direct to customer retention) and say you wish to cancel. When asked why just say the service is too expensive. Ask for free internet streaming if you need it.

What does internet streaming mean? I get to stream XM from my computer, or that I can listen to internet radio through my XM device?

It means you can access xmradio online feed from their website or through another device such as an iPhone. It does not allow you to listen to another streaming service such as Pandora through your XM radio.

I'd call in and ask to cancel your account since your radio is shot. They might send you a new radio for free or at a reduced cost to keep you as a customer. It's worth a shot.

I let my old program lapse for about a month and a half (which I now got for free)
Called and went straight to cancellation and told them they were too expensive.. they offered me a year for $88, then $77 and I asked how about 5 months which they gave me for $23 after fees..

nah... it isn't for six months.. you've should have been given a summary of what you're current rates expiration was.
the semi-annual is simply referring to how you would be billed if you carried their normal rates and fees.. my account is listed as having a "semi-quarterly" renewal.
does this include the sirius channels too?

Just called and told them I was cancelling because my 5 month for $20 is expiring and I couldnt afford the regular price. She offered me 6 months for $30 which is pretty decent so I agreed.
She said the 5 for $20 is dead for existing customers and is now 5 for $25 on new accounts.
I think 6 months for $30 is still pretty solid.

I'd be happy with $30 for 6 months. Mine expires today and there are pending charges on my account. Anyone know how much a second radio will cost with the 5/$20 or 5/$30? Is it $6.95 a month no matter what? Thanks.

PS. Where online is it where we say don't bill automatically? I can't find that anywhere on their site. On purpose I'm sure.

I called today to "cancel" my service - I was paying the $25/5mo on my last cycle. He offered me 6 months for $48 and I said no, I would have to cancel. He then gave me 3 free months (without having to purchase anything) and I could call back after the period is over to see if there's a better promo. Good deal for me.. lol

I called and tried to cancel 3 radios, they offered me 6 month at ~$35. I said that it was still too much with the availability of Pandora and Slacker radio, etc. At the end, he gave me 3 months FREE on all 3 radios to "think about it". He called it "rediscover XM radio". this is def YMMV.

Just called. I have used 5 mos for $20 three times now. Was told they would not renew. Told them to cancel 4 times (with 3 different reps) before they offered me $77 for a year. I took it, but now I am thinking about calling back to cancel. After seeing some other people's deals, I just don't think $77 is a deal anymore. They are obviously willing to go lower.

I've done the $77/yr deal once and the 5 months for $20 twice before. I have about 6 days remaining on that second 5 month subscription so I called them today to try to get that deal again.
I called 800-967-2346 again hoping to get the automated menu that would let me say "cancel" and put me straight over to retentions. I chose "cancel subscription" and the system put me on hold for a "listening service representative". They said the hold time would be greater than 10 minutes but after only about 45 seconds, a retentions rep came on the line.
The rep was located in the Phillipines (last year when I called the same number the rep was in Nebraska). I went through the usual story about how I needed to cancel my subscription as the promotional price was coming to an end and with the economy the way it is, the regular subscription price was just too expensive for me at this time. First the rep seemed inclined to just cancel the subscription without argument (whoops) so I confirmed my address for him then asked if the 5 months for $20 was still available. He said that it was not, and tried to offer me a half price annual deal instead (was around $80 or so). I said that was still too expensive for me right now and that I was really sad because I really loved the service but I just wasn't going to be able to pay that kind of money right now. So then he offered 5 months for $25 plus copyright fees. I asked if that included internet access (hey, might as well try!) but he said that would bring the cost up a further $2.99 per month. So I said no, that would bring the price up too much for me, but the 5 months for $25 for the radio service would be do-able.
Other times when I've called in, they've always tacked the new subscription on to the end of the old subscription. This time he credited back the pro-rated amount for the 6 days left on my membership, crediting me a little under a dollar. So that brought the price down a tiny bit, but it moved the expiry date to 5 months from today. I got the same warning that my credit card would be charged the regular quarterly subscription rate if I didn't call to cancel at the end of the 5 months. I said ok, that I'd mark the date on my calendar so I would remember to call if I didn't want to continue with that service.
So... the final price after fees and credit of the 6 days remaining on my account was $26.78.
Could I have hung up and called back and tried harder to get the deal for $20? Well, ya maybe, but I figured that my time was worth more than the $3.73 difference in price. I wasn't convinced I'd necessarily get the price down to $20 either. I'm ok with the $25 for 5 months.
I checked my account online after completing the phone call and noticed that he entered the order strangely on my account. Looks like he charged separately for 4 months and then again for 1 month less 6 days. But the end result is the expected 5 months for $26.78.

Hey guys..I know that many are getting the $35 for 6 mo or $77 for 12 mo of XM Select.. I however want XM Premier.
XM Premier is basically the best of the best.
For those that want XM Premier at a low price here is what you need to do!!
1st call this # .. 877-486-5979 (this is the # that shows up once you click on the email offering you the 6 months free promotion= $77 per year).. I believe this it the renewal # because as soon as they pick up they as if you are calling to keep your subscription.. Just say yes even if your subscription is expired (mine has expired since July.)
2nd.... They will offer you 6mo for $29.99 + tax or 12mo for $77 +tax.. Choose whichever package suits you best, make payment, ask for your username & pw to verify your account and end your phone call... both packages are for XM Select only.. Don't panic..
3rd.. As mentioned above you now have the XM Select but like me you want XM Premier so the next step is to call the following # 1-800-967-2346..
4th.. When they pick up, tell them that you just signed up or renewed your XM subscription but that the previous Rep told you that your package included the NFL play-by-play!! Tell them that you just checked your account online and you see that they have you on XM Select which doesn't include NFL-play by play.. They will ask for account info to verify.. They will tell you that NFL play-by play and other channels are only on XM Premier and will ask if you want to upgrade.. The upgrade cost for 6mo is only $5 extra.. I'm not sure if its the same as I only got the 6mo deal..
So there you have it.. I got 6mo of XM Select for 29.99 by calling 1-877-486-5979, hung up and called back 1-877-486-5979 to tell them NFL wasn't in my subscription. The rep told me I could add if for only $5 if i was interested. I said yes, she transferred me to 1-800-967-2346.. The new rep here asked me for my info, I told him what happened, he verified that NFL is not on XM Select, and asked if I wanted to upgrade to XM Premier for a one time $5 fee.. I said Yes!! and it was done!!!
All in all I was able to get.. XM Premier 6mo for 29.99+ tax = $35.47 + $5..Total $40.47
I hope this helps some of you all!

Took the 6-mo.Premier package and ran!
Total 6 months XM Select + taxes/fees: $31.63
Total 6 months XM Premier + taxes/fees: $40.33
Just got 6 months of XM Premier for 36.44 the guy on the phone pretty much let me name my own price.
