in trying to find good sites to use as tools for shopping, it is difficult to discern what is considered as competition and what isn't.
I thought a good rule of thumb was if there wasn't a forum, then it wasn't a competitor... ?

How about if it is anything like SD. At all. Even remotely. Like FW and the other one. I don't think it has to have a forum to be considered a competitor..

we're a deal site. so anything which tells you where to get deals on stuff over the internet is considered a competitor.
our policy is that as long as they don't filter/block us, we won't block them.

I have had different experiences with the slickdeals mod here - i found a deal site that had been spammed here by its owners a while back and i was severly chastised for it.
So when I emailed the slickdeals mod to ask about a different site, one without forums - just a categorical listing of deals found on amazon. And a sharp reply back, told me it was a competitor and NO, don't post it.

well to clarify.. that's the general rule things start out from. of course if its self promotion its not going to be allowed. once we get spammed, they get blacklisted.
it would really depend on how you discuss the site... you're welcome to talk to fatwallet, but using a fatwallet referral link would get deleted if that makes sense.

General rule of thumb is if the site contains affiliate links, it'll most likely be removed.
